Thanks. Just worked for me. I didn’t really bother taking the fan down to look for the code, I just used trial and error by using a combination of switches. My fan remote stopped working after a drop, but the light was still on so I knew it wasn’t the battery. One of the switches may have flipped accidentally.

Thanks for sharing were the receiver on the fan is. However, you don't to go through the trouble of removing the light fixture etc. There are only 4 switches on the remote giving 16 unique combinations. You can try one at a time on your remote and see which one works. In my case, I felt my wife would have inadvertently moved the switch. So, I tried the four switches against what position they were and got the fan going on the fourth attempt

No dip switch on mine! The receiver and the remote talk when power is turn back on after being off. Then once the receiver gives a long tone I press the light button on the remote and watch for the light to turn on. The light on the ceiling unit and the fan have to be on the highest setting manually before syncing the remote with the receiver! My unit has a thermostat control as well.

Tab 1 down 2,3,4 up was the same for me. I switched to all up because the battery wire kept pushing the 1 tab to up position. I was in there anyway, right?

Hi! This was helpful, we used trial and error to find the code and the fan option works but not the light option. So at this time we can only control the light with the wall switch and therefore are not able to use the fan with the light being off.

I'm curious, instead of taking the fan apart, why not just try all dipswitch combinations until you get it? There are only 16 variations. And what do you do when NONE of those combinations work? I know that my remote/battery is fine because it controls another fan.

That's a Hampton Bay Redington II. Next step would be to adjust the blade pitch, cause some blade arms are pitched the wrong way.

*Try Unscrewing The Wall Switch and See If It Also Has Dip Switches. I Didn’t Have That Issue So I Wouldn’t Know The Answer But I Would Unscrew The Plate and Inspect The Wall Switch Out*
Does your old remote have dip switch (dual-inline-package) inside it also? And then you could open that and copy??

I have the same remote. It was working for many years with my fan. Now all of a sudden it doesn't work. Seems crazy to have to take off part of the fan in order to see the settings. That wouldn't be easy for me.

@@CJsINFO I did replace the battery first. Then after posting here I went and tried putting the wall fan setting to the highest level. I pointed the remote at the fan and held one of the buttons down for a minute. Then suddenly it started working. I think the battery was one problem, and then I don't know if was a matter of which setting the wall control was set to or if there was a pairing done by pointing the remote and holding a button down. I had done that once before to get it going.

@@CJsINFO I have this issue as well. My remote works to turn on fan and all modes work. The fan/light are hooked up to a standard single wall switch. When the switch is on the light comes on and to turn on the fan, you must use the remote. Therefore, the remote operates the fan, but does not operate the light at all. It was wired this way when I saw it. Do you have any idea what needs to be done ?
*It depends on how your remote is setup to your ceiling fan / light fixture. Does your remote have a light button / feature? Some remote-controlled ceiling fans come with a wall switch for the light only, while others use only the remote*

SImple solution. Never again ceiling fan with remote. Manual operation with simple strings are friendly to operate, no additional costs of batteries and thats it. have gone thru all kind of modern ceiling fans including hunter and so on, but now I go with only old fashioned manual operated ones.
