- Daily Show host Jon Stewart will hosting a Q&A session with the surviving members of Nirvana on a SiriusXM broadcast celebrating the 20th anniversary of their landmark album Nevermind.
Grohl and Novoselic also recalled how Nevermind felt like a dream come true. "It didn't really seem like this would happen. It was almost like a scam." That might explain the band's frugal living conditions during the recording: Nirvana's members split a room in a $70-a-night hotel. Then again, rappers Kid 'n Play were fellow residents of the Oakwood Corporate Apartments, where Grohl apparently met them at the free breakfast buffet; also among the hotel's denizens were "The Final Countdown" rockers Europe.
The interview was held in a "town hall" style, where the live studio audience and callers at home could ask questions. Other topics discussed, according to Newsday, included the use of a click track (at Vig's request, Grohl used a metronome for his drumming on "Lithium" and "Something in the Way"), alternate producer choices (along with Vig, candidates included Neil Young producer David Briggs and R.E.M./Smithereens producer Don Dixon), and, of course, Kurt Cobain's absence. "I wish Kurt was here," Novoselic said. "There's a big hole here."

"That's cool. Where's my fuckin' drum set?" classic.
i cant describe how great this interview is!
This is so great.
Dude... Please make parts 2-7 available for mobile devices as well! This ain't fair! One wants to hear it all after this..
this made my day!
thank you!
What a great timeless record. Nice that the surviving members of Nirvana and Butch Vig are able to talk about this monumental album and the times they had back in 1991.Sucks that the remaster sounds like shit they ruined the sound by screwing up the dynamics of all the instruments in the album. Thank you for uploading this
thanks for posting this!
"You totally made out with Cindy Crawford." - LOVE IT!
Haha, I'm glad he mentioned the PM Dawn compliment.
i am nicaraguan and i love nirvana
Hi Axl!
Same glass! That counts! There's DNA in there! LMAO.
UNDERWATER WELDING LOL
The Nirvana hat is actually in the "don't cry" video. Not "November rain" lol
Music Epiphany = Rolling Stones - "Through the Past, Darkly" around 1973.......
nice beatboxing from Dave at 11:38
lolol I remember warm budweisers, that was a real let down. no one laughed at that. thats the funniest thing said all interview
So THAT was the cause of the Axl Rose conflict.
Why do some of these question guys take 20 minutes to get to their question.
@zimonslot For some reason I can´t....I have no Idea why :(
Well I'm glad he turned that down. They don't really fit on that tour haha.
I thought axel hated nirvana?
loved the music and hated the members. he invited them to the Metallica/Guns N Roses stadium tour in 92 and they turned it down...and from there, they were on his shitlist. I think axl and kurt in their core was pretty much alike but their respectevly childhoods formed them to be as opposite as they became...
Hi Axl!
