Clearly a much better coach than Rhule. Zero NIL at Illinois, less talent, doing tons more than Rhule with way less.

@dennisyoung7363 speaking of. Ed Foley is the worst coach in America. Kicking is terrible, kickoff terrible, kick coverage terrible, Buschini doinked another one the wrong direction, punt coverage gunners getting man handled at the line, took a kid that routinely knocked 40-50 yarders in high school and gave him the worst case of the yips ever, his backup may be even worse. Special Teams cost the game for sure, so did the terrible defensive scheme. Let's put corners 10 yards off the ball on a 3rd and 6. Drop 7 in coverage and still get smoked on the same play for a touchdown 3 times. Bielima is 10 x's the coach Rhule is. And it might not be that close even. Ed Foley having a job still and the cutesy trick play with Harberg tell me all I need to know. Pee Wee bullshit. 4-8 is their ceiling. Might be 3-9 if they lose Saturday.

Really, might be the best thing to happen to us. They came out flat and I had a feeling our players were a little full of themselves after the colorado game. Now they know anyone can beat them and they need to be discipline. Bc until we win a 1 score game we are not "back" yet. I disagree saying we were out coached. I think our players didnt come mentally prepared, the penalties tell me that.
T.White didn’t make the necessary adjustments, fast enough. Can’t exhaust your front 3-4 because you don’t want to blitz, and then show that the blitz works with under 5 minutes to go. Need to ramp up the aggressiveness rest of the way.
I honestly think in my heart that Nebraska is cursed. We lose games in the STRANGEST ways. The middle of the field was wide open all game for Illinois. And I cant explain why or DBs gave them 10 to 15 yard cushions and gave up the middle all game.. Tony White didn't adjust to the game or he just didn't see what Illinois was doing to us and it completely costs us the game. They used our over pursuit against us and WE DIDINT adjust at all.. WR and QB were the stars of this game.
We lost this game in a very normal way... It just felt a lot like some of the weird ones in the past.
The curse may be real though... lol
Husker program has been in the depths of hell for years now. This is a legitimate rebuilding process. Now, it will take time to build up a program. This is year 2, and to be 3-1 after week 4, I think that's respectable it's not perfect, but it will take shape trust the process GBR!

@10xshooters I agree with u. But there are things that we can control like leaving the field wide open all game.. no in game adjustments were made and we got pushed around.. why didn't we bring more pressure? Those are all things we can control and didn't. Was just a good learning lesson imo

It was evident early that we couldn't run up the middle. Why did we keep trying. You guys are right, the coaching is suspect.

Illinois had the same QB as last year.
Last year was Altmeyers freshman year basically.
And we played him totally different. And, he's much improved this season, over last.

The fact that Ed Foley still has a job with this bad of special teams play is why this team won't sniff a bowl game. Terrible kicking, terrible kick coverage, Buschini shanks another one the wrong direction, can't snap, gunners getting destroyed every punt. This team will go 4-8 at best if the team that shows up last night does again. 3-9 if they lose next week. Offense is improved strictly due to the fact this staff was lucky a legacy QB came to make them look moderately good in the non con.
The staff wasn’t “lucky” Raiola came in. They worked their asses off to get him, and won him over.

I have bad recurring feeling that bowl eligibility will come to Iowa and Wisconsin games once again.
Illinois is not a good team, average at best. Rutgers and Indiana are going to stomp us. I see maybe 3 more wins if we are lucky. DB scheme is horrendous, has been for the past two years
