I think they're definitely some answers. If we can utilize the run outside the hashes teams will have to honor that, like Coach Scarcelli was saying. Quick pass and RPO have to be cleaned up, but good news is, we have a rough outline of how we can beat those elite teams in the B1G. Control the clock and field positioning, HOLD ONTO THE ROCK, and let our defense go out there and do what they do. Much better called game on the offense and defensive end. There was one play in particular in the 2nd half, where, if I remember right, We PA with mullins from the gun going left - TE did about 10-15 yard post/out rout near right sideline, but we just failed to execute on both the route and the throw. Those are the kind of plays that'll keep defenses honest. Sounded like an idiot shouting 'He got it" at the game when I saw that developing, but great play nonetheless. Love the dynamic you guys got going on, keep up the awesome post-game podcast!
Credit to the Michigan players, they won this game in spite of their coordinators. Michigan was badly outcoached in the second half, they have much room for improvement when it comes to in game adjustments. Especially Kirk Campbell. I’ll cut the OC some slack, because this was Alex Orji’s first game. But having him in shotgun as much as he did made it easy for USC to know what play was coming. They need to go to 2 back sets all game, rotate in 3 to 4 backs to keep guys fresh, Orji under center primarily, and do a lot more misdirection, RPO, and play action. And find a way to get Donovan Edwards into the passing game, off play action, etc.
Being without Colston and winning absolutely says something 💛💙🏆👊
