The hotel you’re seeing that looks the shape of an ear at 14:44 is one of the over water bungalows I stayed in for my honeymoon. VERY unfortunately I didn’t get a sea plane, but my bungalow looked right out into the left of the direction you’re flying, which was the inbound path of all aircraft. I was happy, my wife just rolled her eyes at me 😅
Hahaha, nice story! Wishing you all the bests!
"Welcome to the Maldives, 47"
That was the first thought I had when I saw the thumbnail 😂
Many (most?) islands don't have docks for the plane. They moor to a buoy and a boat comes out to transfer the tourists to the island.
I've heard from seaplane pilots that technique for lifting off water is one pontoon off first (left or right depending on clearance) and then the next. Helps to break that surface tension, preventing the sudden jerk up moment and providing passengers with a smoother takeoff experience. Because they're what it's all about :)
The Aerosoft Twin Otter. If you bought it before they discontinued it you're grandfathered in
good news but it is broken for me so its in the microsoft cloud hopefully if msn fixes it it will transfer to that ol girl.
I got it before it got discontinued i love it
I am going to the maledives in two weeks
Which Isles or Hotels do you prefere?
I don’t know, I was never there before
Thank you for this amazing presentation. I will purchase this scenery and I will take the Beaver on floats out of my hangar, since it has been catching a bit of dust as of lately:) Maybe the Kodiak is a bit too fast for this, or I may throttle it back a bit. Will see. Cheers.
A few weeks ago I was here taking a hydroplane to Iru Sushi for a week's long vacation. The way I saw they takeoff is that they keep the nose high during the roll. At stall warning they relax the pull so that the floaters get just out of the water. Then they relax even more to accelerate to Vy/Vx/V2+something/... with no climb. At climb speed they pull to hold speed and that's that.
I guess it's dependant of the roughness of the sea as they would want those wave hits on the roll minimised. And yes, they have a flight attendant in the cabin that deals with mooring and stuff :). Our flight took about 45' flown at 4500 ft :) (I was behind the pilots :D).
Thank you for the video!
Thank you again for another wonderful video, Emi! A great demonstration of your skills as a simmer in the Twin Otter and your artistic skills as a travel cameraman! This new scenery is so good and truly evocative of the real world experience of the Maldives. I purchased as soon as it was out and flew a simulated BAW 061 in the 777 (currently serviced by a 789) and flying into Male in the early morning was just as close to the real world experience that one can get. Certainly to be recommended as a destination and I am looking forward to getting the Twin Otter off the chocks and into the water after not flying it for nearly 2 years! Thanks again for your motivating videos as always
16:33 Not "larger hotel buildings", but that looks like a "locals' island", essentially a base for fishing (hence the harbour) with housing for the men and their families. Not every island is a resort island.
17:25 Two islands briefly seen ahead ... closest is a locals' island and the further is where I honeymooned in 2004 and then returned to again for two more visits before the prices started to sky-rocket!
Thanks to your video I just picked up the scenery and giving it a go in the Twin Otter. Question though how did you get you bird to stay at the dock once you spawned in. As soon as I click fly now my bird starts floating off.
It's good technique in a float plane to lift one float with aileron before rotation so you will unstick more easily.
What a beautiful scenery from FSDG . 👍
Did you know Emanuel that Lufthansa landed in the 1930's on the river Main near the Eiserner Steg ? 🙂
Really enjoyed this sim. This looks like it could be a fun job to have as a pilot.
Wonderful! Is there any trick of locking the Twotter at the gates? Especially on windy days they weathercock a lot..
this if my favorite aircraft in the sim.. you made a wonderful video! subbed! thank you
Thank you very much! Welcome!
thats incredible an Airline pilot flying a float plane and throughly enjoyed this video and Alaska has the biggest float plane base in the world unless things changed.
Nice video Emanuel!
Ohh loveley Maledives, been there in May this year, with a Quatar 777, gorgeous !
How did you like it? I bet it was even more beautiful than what the sim can show 😄
Yeah, it's just another Level, even in comparison to the Caribbean :D
Awesome plane I wish you could still buy it!
The sad thing is there is no "plane anchor" on the seaplanes
Nice scenery. On another note, I've never seen the sea mirroring clouds that much, or at all to be frank. I believe it kills the immersion.
Hey Emi can you do maybe a video when to use in the 777 MAGNETIC and TRUE north?
Emi covered this briefly in the live stream he did recently not sure the time stamp for it sorry. It depends on your northern latitude when to switch its listed on some charts
Hi A330 Driver, where did you get the Twin Otter? Thanks :)
Do try to go to Punta Cana for vacation Emmanuel, beautiful airport and beautiful beaches. It is one of the best locations my country has to offer! I would love to see a B77W landing at MDPC. Air France operates their 777 to Punta Cana :)
I really wish we had a good CDG scenery, I would surely have flown there already! PUJ is beautiful indeed, one of my favorite layovers!
Ive tried to get the twin otter, but havent been able to. Had someone that was going to forward me a copy, but just never happened. Ive wanted this plane, but no go.
Have you seen any of the videos that the Norwegian youtuber «Fly with Magnar» has. He is an ATR captain and an instructor for the Maldivian, flying in Paradise 😀😀
Really lovely scenery!
Are we sinking!!!! Really got me 😂😂😂, thanks for the content
What are you sinking about?
@@Manuel-9- watch the video and you understand 😊
How do you get your camera to move this way? I have tried everything and i cant figure it out..
maybe do a a330 Neo flight to male with Condor when Aerosoft's Frankfurt is out
I'll consider it, but I'll probably rather do the Austrian version with the 777-200ER once it's out in winter!
2:17 first world problems....
"shit, where did I park my otter?????"
First thing coming to my mind is holiday tsunami.
Didnt buy any scenery/aiport add on since msfs24 was anounced. Cant wait to see such a scenery in 24 then
29:42 somebodys luggage getting wet, dock underwater
😂
Great video👍👍🤩🤩
I was going to come to the chat to ask what you thought of the water physics in MSFS, and if they had improved. Then I scrolled to about 10mins in the video and saw you try to rotate...........................................................I guess nothings changed then!!!!!! Typical. I hope that they improve water physics in MSFS24 but im not holding out any hopes!!!
Nope, still a fair bit of work for Asobo 😅
I hope the 2024 version of the Twin Otter is better than the crap Aerosoft shoveled out! I'm done with Aerosoft. Never another penny! Such low quality and they never got it fixed. Hopefully the community finally gets a quality Twin Otter and the Otter gets the respect it deserves. 🤞
How do parking brakes work in the water? 🤔🤔
Not at all
Amazing 🤠😎
Hey A330 Driver, big fan! By any chance, were you operating an emirates 777 earlier today? I was on VATSIM at Dubai international in my own aircraft and I heard someone who sounds exactly like you communicating on the frequencies. Just wondering if it’s true because it was cool to have an aviation legend with me on VATSIM!
Hi, Emirates 656 was me indeed! And you'll see it on the channel in the next couple of days ;-)
@@A330Driver I knew I recognized your voice! You probably don’t remember but i was Emirates 8LT, looking forward to the video!
Will it work with msfs2024 too?
Nobody knows - except for *saying* it will work (which they also said for all FSX addons before the MSFS release...) nobody has any info from Asobo yet.
Bought this plane forever ago but never used it. Have flown couple times since the msfs2024 trailer and Emi did a video for it. Best float plane is the the Kodiak, it is extremely good and still available most importantly 😂. Thx for the video was great scenery and makes a change. The centre panel of gauges is logical layout but still looks a total mess and ruins my brain 😮. On a more serious note climate change will likely endanger these islands 😢
The cockpit definitely needs some getting used to! If you bought the Twitter already, you can still download it through Aerosoft one btw
Unfortunately you are very right about the danger these islands face. If you want to visit them better do it now or never.
Such a shame aerosoft quit this airplane, it could have been awesome 🥹
They didn’t “quit” it, Microsoft bought all the rights from them.
@@A330Driver and left it undeveloped ! 😃
