Another good vid. I have heard that fan noise in a few freezers over the years. The spookiest one I recall was when my wife and I were going to move to a rental house. The place needed alot of fix up before moving in and the Landlord didn't care what I did as long as my work was good. So I was in the place doing some sheetrock and painting when I kept hearing what sounded like low talking conversation. Like muttering, but couldn't make out where it was coming from as the sound was intermittent. So I would be working and when I got quiet I could hear this "talking". Middle of the night, 2am, 3am. Had to work on the place into the nights cuz I had a day job. Went on for several weeks. Long story short, I came to realize this "talking" was chatter from the freezer motor going on and off normally and making the intermittent sound like the freezer you were working on. Was a little spooky and frustrating in the middle of the night. Anyway, I put a drop or two of "3 in 1" oil on the shaft close to the bearing and that quieted it down, for awhile. Got a new fridge from the owner. It was OLD. "They don't make 'em like they used to."
    Maybe they never did.😄 Cheers!

My Kenmore fridge made noisy sound so I turned it off and waited few minutes and turned it back on. That fixed issue for couple days. Was going to buy a replacement fan buy got a sticker price shock. It cost 10% of the cost of my 20 years old fridge.
I finally took the evaporate fan out and cleaned it. I greased it with a synthetic motor oil (5W20) around the coil winding and shaft. After that it was running quieter than ever.

I work at an apartment complex so the service is part of their rent payment every month so I don't charge them. GE isn't what it used to be. But neither is anything else.

Be sure to check your grommets it can make your fan motor loud. Its the round red things between the fan motor and the mounting bracket and theres 2 more small ones on the side of the fan attached to the bracket. He is missing one of the small ones on the right. Which could be the problem considering its intermittent and how he could tap it to make the sound. Put one of those pencil eraser in there till you get the part. Lol

dude I literally had a call yesterday on the same issue on a brand new GE refrigerator. When I would walk in, it makes no noise. But she would call me saying that it's making noises again. I think it's under warranty, so a GE tech can deal with it lol
