Publically, Korean society is conservative , which I think is funny since Koreans nowadays have as much premarital sex and prostitution as the U.S. have. But it would definitely be awkward for the translator to ask this question in Korean.
You are totally right jose. They are grown men, and we have to stop treating as if they are children. Its okay to be protective, but it is true. Theyve been asked about porn (especially RM) multiple times in their native tongue. The question was asked in humor and innocence, because they have such a large fanbase. Ellen means no harm. I love our boys so much, this on top of the AMA's is such good recognition for their group! These boys are so amazing, they deserve the world! All these boys have gone through so much and it shows in their music, their lyrics, and I'm so glad Ellen asked about it and made it known how much effort, emotion, and their own pain goes into their music.

Okayyy Ima just put a short (probably long af tbh) comment about all this. First, I love that you put that at the end. The fights I've been seeing on twitter are just ridiculous, we all got our own opinions about it and arguing won't cause anything but anger and hostility towards each other. I've cried way too many times this past week just because I start thinking about what their 2013 selves would say if we told them how successful they will be in 4 years.. At first, I had that same thing of uneasiness because I hadn't seen the actual clip yet but I knew Ellen was trustworthy. Ofc after actually watching the clip, I'm glad it kinda went smoothly and yeah she moved on and all so that was really good. After seeing all the "they're grown men" arguments, I still stand on my view of it being a bit uncomfortable and low-key inappropriate. Yes, they spoke about watching porn and all but also those were hosts they knew well (At least i think so) and also that was in Korean and I think that show is kinda known for getting like that, Like anything goes and they're comfortable. Now though, in this situation, it was in English, on a daytime TV show with a host they aren't very close to (i guess you could say that, this might not make sense idk). So of course there's a big difference in the atmosphere and context imo. Ah I also just think if it would have been another interview with a different host and asked in a different more suggestive way, it would've been implied wrong. One of the reasons that I admire BTS besides their music and the message they're trying to communicate is how well they treat their fans. If I were to find out that they'd just turned out to be one of those celebrities that abuse their status and use people that admire them like that yeah, I would be very disappointed. I think acting like that doesn't make you are grown man at all, but more like a grown baby tbh (note that I'm not talking about having sex, but about using your money and status to exploit a lot of women).

Little disappointed with the short ‘interview’, I assumed it would be like 20-30 mins in total. Like an actual interview for 5 or 10 minutes then games and lastly the performance. I didn’t have a problem with the question. They knew she was joking. Everyone was having fun with it. They are comfortable about it. They have been comfortable with it since being on American Hustle Life. They’re grown, they know what it means so it’s fine.
The thing is that I'm sure BTS' director reviews all the interview questions before they go on the show so if they were uncomfortable with the "hookup "question, they would have squashed it before going on air. That's all I think.

Okayyy Ima just put a short (probably long af tbh) comment about all this. First, I love that you put that at the end. The fights I've been seeing on twitter are just ridiculous, we all got our own opinions about it and arguing won't cause anything but anger and hostility towards each other. Second, I completely understand how you keep saying how unreal this is and just how proud you are because literally same. I've cried way too many times this past week just because I start thinking about what their 2013 selves would say if we told them how successful they will be in 4 years.. Ugh my tear ducts hate me xD. But uh third (i guess), Ima go back to the question thing.. At first, I had that same thing of uneasiness because I hadn't seen the actual clip yet but I knew Ellen was trustworthy. Ofc after actually watching the clip, I'm glad it kinda went smoothly and yeah she moved on and all so that was really good. After seeing all the "they're grown men" arguments, I still stand on my view of it being a bit uncomfortable and low-key inappropriate. Yes, they spoke about watching porn and all but also those were hosts they knew well (At least i think so) and also that was in Korean and I think that show is kinda known for getting like that, Like anything goes and they're comfortable. Now though, in this situation, it was in English, on a daytime TV show with a host they aren't very close to (i guess you could say that, this might not make sense idk). So of course there's a big difference in the atmosphere and context imo. Ah I also just think if it would have been another interview with a different host and asked in a different more suggestive way, it would've been implied wrong. They love us so much and I honestly think they think highly of us. Like I'm not generalizing American artists but I hope you get what I mean when I say this- some artists are known for just taking advantage of their fans and having one night stands because they idolize these people and don't care about the consequences. What I'm saying is like they aren't like that- they're respectful and humble and oof this is probably coming out wrong and this is getting pretty long (Sorry to yall that actually read all this) but yeah... also don't come at me with that "they ask everyone these kinds of questions" BS cuz I saw a lot of that from AMAs interview comment sections about the meaningless questions. Idgaf if that's what they ask everyone else, BTS isn't everyone else. I think they deserved better questions and not being asked "Whose your celebrity crush?!" a million times cuz I mean cool but like I don't think we care too much about that ? idk but yeah this was a long rant sorry xD Ily guys and will respect your opinions but don't reply with BS please
I couldn't agree more with everything you just said! And I get exactly what you mean. One of the reasons that I admire BTS besides their music and the message they're trying to communicate is how well they treat their fans. If I were to find out that they'd just turned out to be one of those celebrities that abuse their status and use people that admire them like that yeah, I would be very disappointed. I think acting like that doesn't make you are grown man at all, but more like a grown baby tbh (note that I'm not talking about having sex, but about using your money and status to exploit a lot of women).
That's exactly what I think.. For me it would be very uncomfortable answering such kind of questions in one of the biggest Shows in American TV.. Nevertheless I'm very proud of my 7 angels ❤
Sam i totally agree with u. they did a VERY GREAT job so far and in interviews they asked them 'what celebrity crush?' they are not some simple singers/group they should've asked unique questions. i mean wtf? is this some kind a game like truth or dare? f those questions. i think it's disrespectful

Little disappointed with the short ‘interview’, I assumed it would be like 20-30 mins in total.
Like an actual interview for 5 or 10 minutes then games and lastly the performance.
Just a little disappointed as ARMYs include Ellen kinda hyped it up and I swear majority of ppl thought they would play games and Ellen might scare them as she usually does that stuff.

I didn’t have a problem with the question. They knew she was joking. Everyone was having fun with it. They are comfortable about it. They have been comfortable with it since being on American Hustle Life. They’re grown, they know what it means so it’s fine.

The thing is that I'm sure BTS' director reviews all the interview questions before they go on the show so if they were uncomfortable with the "hookup "question, they would have squashed it before going on air. That's all I think.
