    interesting theory. But in reality leader length should be adjusted based on what the fish want on a given day.

      That's also a factor. But you really want it based on how deep or shallow you intend to fish. That will determine where your bait sits in the water column.

    Kind of useless to adjust your leader 6 inches when going from 2ft to 3ft of water. But yeah if u we’re using a 1ft leader in 2ft of water u would want to switch to a deeper leader for 5ft+ of water.
