Years ago, I went into a Goodwill store here in Florida and had a browse through their record section.
I saw a Jim Stafford Greatest Hits album.
    It was marked $1.50.
I pulled the LP out to look for scratches, the disc looked clean, I let it drop back in the sleeve.
I got the record out later at home and I looked at the label on the disc.
I hadn't paid attention to it in the store, I was just looking for scratches along the grooves and I'd only quickly pulled the disc halfway out.
ANYWAY, it was an Edith Piaf record.
I had no idea who she was but I put the $1.50 album on the turntable and sat back and listened.
I was completely entranced by this woman's voice.
The songs were not in English, I had no idea what she was singing but she beguiled me with that voice.
I wore that album out, I never heard anyone mention her name till now, I never researched her, I just listened to that voice.
It's been years, I've moved several times, I don't know what ever happened to that album.
Thank you for posting this video!

You failed to mention that Piaf refused to sing for the Nazis when they occupied France. Others did, like Maurice Chevalier. I saw her live in Deauville in August, 1962. I was 15. She and her accompanist, Theo Serapo, were stunning.

Are you okay in your head? Have you ever seen a photo of Edith Piaf? What kind of clothes are these anyway? She had never dressed like this. What kind of monster did you draw?

@@TheStoryVault100 Well done and thanks for posting. Don't listen to this fool's comments, they obviously have problems and just want to drag everyone else down too.
