Great video, I love both versions. That is one of the best things about making your own clothes, you can make one pattern look completely different just by changing the fabric. 🌈🍓🧶
I love your full length version and the pattern on the fabric is lovely. A tip for you to make putting in zip easier.. The first thing I do after darts is sew the left back bodice to the left back trouser, then the right back bodice to the right back trouser, Then insert the zip and finish sewing that crotch seam. So much easier to do on the flat. After doing pockets and pleat Sew the two front trouser pieces on the crotch seam, together, then attach the front bodice. You can then sew the side seams all the way from top to bottom, being careful to match waist seams. It is easier then to adjust the side seams for fit. I hope you understand what I mean and maybe try it. Loved your collab with Karen x
What a fabulous tip - I will try that another time. Thank you so much. Thank you you really are so kind - we have had such a lovely time doing the collar, and really hope to do more again 🥰
I love both your versions and you look fabulous Angela as does Karen... I would love to be a fly on the wall when you two get together on zoom...🤣🤣. I look forward to the next episode..take care xx
Hi Angela, Eva here from Insta account By Juliannie 😊 Glad you liked my comment there, it’s really how I feel, you two are my favourite TH-camrs ❤️ There is one more thing you two have in common that I love and that is that you show other crafts like knitting and sewing ”things”. I also love that you both sew for your family as well. I have three (now grown up) kids and I have always sewn for them as well as for myself. Now I sew for my grandkids but also for my hubby and for my little business. This jumpsuit looks gorgeous on you and it’s so helpful to see how you adjusted it to fit you! ❤️
Hia Eva, Thank you so much - that's so kind of you to say 🥰 How wonderful that you have sewn for ALL you family, children and now grand children, that is so wonderful. Thanks so much again 🥰
Lovely jumpsuits! I do watch the both of you and enjoy your videos. I have that pattern and will certainly be making it. It looks nice and cool for this weather. 🥰
Angela this was fantastic! Such a lovely video and very informative. Your jumpsuit is absolutely beautiful and suits you so much. I'm so happy to have been part of your sewing journey for this pattern and I thoroughly enjoyed our zoom sewing sessions!! Long may they continue 😁 and I'll look forward to another collaboration in the future. Thank you so much for sharing my version and showing all the lovely photos. Now go and enjoy wearing it!! 💕💗😄💃 Xx
Thank you so much lovely 🥰 It's just been such a lit of fun hasn't it 😊 Although it would be so lovely to meet in person and have a face to face sewing session - this is really the closet we can get to it - and I just love it! I think we may have to do another collar too 😉 I just love both our versions - they look so different, and that is why I think sewing them together has been interesting. I didn't think I wanted to do the cropped version, but now, seeing yours again - I really want to make a cropped one too 😂 Fabulous 🥰❤️
You should both be delighted they are beautiful, I have the pattern but disregarded it because I’m not a pear shape but with a few adjustments I could make it work 😀 xx
Thank you so much! Definitely - go for it, it's such fab pattern, I would just toile it first to be on the safe side. Good luck, hope to hear you've managed success with it 🥰
Fab vlog Angela I love yours and Karen’s they are both beautiful 😊 I’m looking forward to your next collaboration.. it’s lovely seeing friends sewing together 🧵🪡
Great to come back and see this review again now I have the pattern. Only going to make the dress version, but had already been a bit concerned about the width across the upper chest and the placement of the straps being too wide. Thanks so much Angela for sharing your pattern adjustments, it will be very helpful once I get going on mine.
What a treat! Two of my fave TH-cam sewing ladies coming together! So nice. You both look fab. I have the same measurements as you, Angela, so I am always interested to see how different patterns work out for you. This one is definitely lovely. Thank you both.
Aaaahhh bless you - that's just made my day - thank you so much. It's always so helpful finding someone with the same measurements, I hope it's always helpful 😊 Thank you so much again 🥰
Hello Angela, love both your jumpsuits. Its so lovely to see the same pattern in two different fabrics. Thank you for the tip about moving the band and straps inwards, I have narrow shoulders and have stayed away from strappy patterns, but would love to try this one now. Would love to see you and Karen do another collaboration. Enjoy wearing your beautiful jumpsuit 😄
Thank you so much! Aaahhh yes - give it a go, and hopefully the adjustment I made will help. Thank you so much - we really hope to do more, it was a lot of fun🥰
Your jumpsuit is gorgeous and a great fit on you. I feel my shape has changed recently so my waist has increased but my legs and hips are still thin so I feel unsure about making it (although I’ve had the pattern 2 years at least!)😆In the past I would have cut the size 12 and graded down the legs. I like the way you have lengthened it and it really suits your fabric choice. 🤗
I subscribe to both of your channels so it was lovely to see you together. It was great to see them made up in different fabrics and different lengths.Thank you both for all you tips
I really love this pattern and will be ordering one soon. Unfortunately New Look and Simplicity are not available in Canada so I have to order it from USA. What a great idea to make the legs floor length. I love both versions. You both gave great reviews for this pattern.
Thank you so much - We're both so pleased with them. Aaaah that's such a shame that you can't get them there. Hopefully yours will arrive soon from the USA. Thanks so much again 🥰
I love both of your jumpsuits but I think for my figure I will go with your version, Angela. I love long wide trousers with fitted bodice, and the drapier fabric...everything about this pattern is just lovely. Can't wait to make my own version, I bought this pattern when you announced you'll be doing this collab, I was eyeing it up for a couple of years now and you finally swayed me towards it! 😻😍🥰
Loved seeing both your makes, they suit you both so well. Im more of a pear shape like Karen so to see in a different fabric and style option was really useful. Looking forward to more of your collabs in the future. ☺️
Hi Angela, I’ve been looking forward to watching your collab video with Karen on 6446. I love your viscose version, the drape of the fabric really lends itself to the pattern, perfect for a summer evening out and it looks terrific on you. The fit looks really good on you! Karen’s version is beautiful too - she chose such a pretty summery print. I’ve had several head scratching moments with this pattern, trying to get it to fit. If I got the bust to fit, I couldn’t get the waist to fit with the trouser section (even adjusting the darts made it look wrong), or if I got the waist to fit the bust and back were all out! Aaaargh! My measurements are spread over 3 sizes. It was interesting to see how you changed your band across the chest and your alteration to the top back to make it fit properly - so I’m going to try your adjustments and see if that works for me. Fingers crossed! Thank you for your review and it was a great collab with Karen too - great job ladies 😊
Thank you so much - it's been such a lot f fun to do, but it's so great that you have enjoyed to too - thank you 🥰 Oooooh I really hope that it works, please do let me know how you get on, and if it doesn't;t work, maybe between Karen and I, we might be able to help you. I really felt frustrated with this pattern initially, but I'm so pleased I persevered, so please don't give up. Thank you so much again 🥰
I really love both versions and the longer leg length looks really great. The fabric is perfect too. I just said to Karen that I have made this last year but dont wear it because I struggle with getting the zip down for using the toilet so think I'm going to convert it to a dress instead.
Fantastic makes. I love both the versions of this jumpsuit. Really beautiful. I’ve had this pattern for over a year. I attempted to make the dress version but had some fit issues and didn’t like the back pleats of the skirt so put the pattern away. Your vlog has inspired me to get it back out and give the jumpsuit a go. I’m very petite at 4’9” and found the back of the bodice didn’t come up high enough and showed my bra. I also had the same issue as you and found the front band was too wide. Any tips on altering the back height would be welcomed.
Aaahhh I'm so sorry to hear the dress didn't do well, I've heard that about the dress, so yes, maybe give the jumpsuit a go. The only thing I can think of to alter the back bodice height would be to take a slice of it out of the pattern piece across the centre. But toile it first, and see how that goes. You may have to alter the front too, to accommodate the back adjustment. I really hope that this helps. Thank you so much 🥰
Looks fab on you, Angela!
Thank you 😊💕
You and Karen are a delightful pair. I'd love to see more like this!
That's so kind of you, thank you so much 😊💕
Hi Angela, great collaboration with Karen and both your versions are fabulous 👌💝. Looking forward to seeing more from you both 😁👍😘
Thanks so much! 😊
Such fun watching both your videos - I hope you do another!
Thank you, I thibk we might be doing one again, as it was such a lot of fun ❤️❤️❤️
Love both yours and Karen’s versions! Great use of the SHJ fabric it looks so pretty on you x
Thanks so much lovely. I'm so pleased with it, and the fabric was just perfect for it too 😊❤️
Both jumpsuits look amazing. Thanks for sharing 😊
Glad you like them! Thank you so much 🥰
