Unbiblical teaching. Judas did not Betray Jesus. Jesus Chose Judas. John 13:27 , Luke 22:3 clearly state that Judas was possessed by Satan, who was commanded by Jesus: As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. So Jesus told him, “What you are about to do, do quickly.” Speaking to Satan... Judas regretted his actions, attempted to repent, and return the silver coins, and blamed himself for Christ's Murder. When Christ Decended to the Land of the Dead, he Released Judas from the grip of Satan. For Satan has No Power over Christ. Jesus took Judas to Heaven.

People say that Judas has a choice to be forgiven before his betrayal. But if he decided "hey, maybe I won't betray Christ", then what would have happened to the salvation story? Would it just have been someone else who betrayed him instead?

      Actually good question
The anwser to that i think piggybacks off the old testament
Do you remember when Pharoh had chance and chance time and time again to let the Hebrews go as per Moses relaying God's message ?
And Pharoh hardened his heart over and over, until God solidified it ?
Fast forward to the new testament John 13: 21-30
The devil could not enter a vessel that was saved
It is similar to the hardened heart

DID Judas betray Christ ? The Bible says No. When Jesus died and decended to the land of the dead, without a doubt, he gave Juda's soul a hug & took him to Heaven. Judas did what he did BY YHWH's Plan for Salvation. Well Done, good & faithful servant. Well Done.

Judas is a very interesting character, however things at least to me were not so simple, the fact that he went back to the Sanhedrin at told them he had betrayed innocent the Lord is a clue that he did showed remorse, he knew that he had done wrong, it’s not that he was totally evil, he was not invested in the Lord wholeheartedly, and that to me is scary, watching the lord do all those miracles and still love money and status so much he was willing to betray the Lord after that is unconscionable. God have mercy on us all.

I think that what Christ was saying is that it would have been better for Judas to have been born after the cross rather than before it...the same could have been said of the family of Herod ..they killed John the Baptist & James the step brother of Christ & Stephen..Judas
      was a decendant of Judah..
      Judah had mental problems..
those problems may have been passed from father to son...no one knows all of the details..we can only guess.

It surprises me that so far no one has apparently bothered to simply ask the most basic of questions: Why would the Sanhedrin pay Judas such a princely sum... to point out someone they already KNEW well? Yes... you heard me right. In all THREE Synoptic Gospels, Jesus, Himself, points out to the arrest party that they had all SEEN Him teaching daily in the Temple... and had been WITH HIM as He taught (?!):
"Jesus said to them, 'Have you come with swords and clubs to arrest me like you would an outlaw? DAY AFTER DAY I WAS WITH YOU, teaching in the temple courts, yet you did not arrest me.'"
    (Mark 14:48-49, Matt 26:55, Luke 22:53)
Thus... They KNEW Him, already! Jesus RECOGNIZED them all... and knew THEY recognized Him. So....... what did it matter whether Judas was there or not to "kiss" Him and point Him out? And why would they pay Judas anything to do so? The simple Truth here is this: There was no "Judas Kiss"... there was no Judas "betrayal"... and there probably was no Judas, period. Instead... the Judas story was later concocted to HIDE the truth regarding those who really DID betray Jesus by testifying against Him at His trial before the Sanhedrin... to save their own skins. Wanna take a guess who those real betrayers were? Here's a hint: Peter wasn't seated with the guards outside Jesus's trial, unable to leave as people kept recognizing him, 'cuz they were all such great buddies.
Think about it... take all the time you need. ;)

    Which is true?
Judas threw the money into the temple, went away and hanged himself (Matthew 27:5) or
Judas bought the field with the money, fell, burst open there and his bowels gushed out (Acts 1:18) ?
    They can't both be true.

    • @west221b
      @west221b 8 ปีที่แล้ว +19

Not with that re-wording and ignoring the rest of the paragraph (context), no.
Matthew 27:6, the next verse, explains that the priests recognized the money Judas threw back into the temple as blood money and therefore couldn't remain in the temple (talk about hypocrisy--Judas isn't the only one "acting" here) and therefore bought a field with it where strangers could be buried.
Acts 1:18 references this purchase on Judas' behalf and provides supplemental information: Judas' corpse fell from his hanging and burst open. Since it was a field for strangers, his body, apparently, wasn't tended to. Whether there is any correlation to the sacrificial system and all the cleaning of intestines and whatnot I do not know.
Therefore, the two accounts are complementary, not contradictory. I hope that helps!

    • @arielartista93
      @arielartista93 7 ปีที่แล้ว +14

I agree with Julian. Matthew's account is that Judas returned the money and the priests were the one who bought the field. Matthew doesn't say what happened, just that Judas hung himself.
Acts gives a more detailed account of the hanging. It goes to the actual field where he hung himself. He probably had been hanging for a while in the hot heat, and the bacteria in his intestines caused his stomach to expand. Then, when he fell (dead) from the rope, his guts spewed out because of all the pressure. Same story, just different perspective. It makes the Bible that much more awesome.

Judah Iscariot was son of Simon Iscariot. Not to be confused with Judah who wrote the letter before John's revelation. Old translations did not change their names. Similarly James (who wrote the book of James) is actually Jacob (Jacobus) Some people are trying to corrupt the scriptures by changing names and adding footnotes and headers. If your grandparents had an old bible, go and open it up - you might see some differences. God is not the author of confusion. Jesus identified Judah Iscariot as one sharing bread with the body of Christ. Only God can reveal who that is and that is why we must pray "Deliver us from the Evil One" .. Remember, if we are always confused and not being empowered we must remember what Jesus teaches about who is at the table. God bless you if you are one who struggles.

Judas Obeyed Christ, and Jesus commands Satan (possessing Judas) to work quickly. John 13:27 , Luke 22:3 As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him.
Remember Christ himself said for God the Father to Forgive them, because they do not know what they do... That would apply to everyone involved in Christ's Crucifixion. Even the GOOD THIEF is forgiven shortly before he is killed... "the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”
Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom. ”
Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

I think that you are as wrong as others about Judas and only speculating no one knows about Judas until you read the missing book of Judas and why is the book missing.

If God wanted it to be part of the Scriptures, do you not think he would have found it? Somebody had to betray Jesus - it was prophesied but Judas had the opportunity to repent, even after the betrayal. I'd like to think he was repentant but the Bible indicates that he was sorrowful but not reconciled to God, which is a real sadness, and a warning to others...

      @@timhodgins6031 Judas is not doomed.
Judas Iscariot is the first person to publicly proclaim that the innocent
blood of Jesus Christ was shed on account of his sin. Matt. 27:4.
Whenever I read about his sin of betrayal, I also see the blood of Jesus Christ.
God the Father does not see the sin but only the blood.
I am forever praising and believing Jesus is the Christ, and this is pleasing to God.

Either Jesus is Stronger than Satan or Satan is Stronger than Jesus. Judas Obeyed Jesus & it was Satan [possessing Judas' body] which Jesus commands to Work Quickly.
