  • Hey! Val here. This video is about a multi-press schematic I found. I thought it would be a good opportunity to explain some stuff about junctions, overflow gates, and conveyors (bridges). Hope you enjoy.
Also, here's the link to the schematic: www.mindustrys...

Lol Same, and him explaining how the conveyors are lined up too! He's gotten a sub.

Is it really "modular"? The combination of an overflow gate and a junction is widely called as "Zipper" and is one of the simplest/least effective logistic strats in the game. The zipper's throughput is limited by the speed of a singular titanium/plast conveyor which is really, really slow. This multi-press setup will be more "modular" if you were outputting graphite from the top and inputting second lane of coal from the conveyor which is used for outputting graphite now.

Modular? yes. As efficient as can be? No. When I first show this schematic's modularity (?) in the video, you can see that I try to set up from the top. It would be better. I don't know why it doesn't already. Maybe to have a smaller footprint?

@@Valerian138 well, the reason I was so sceptical about modularity is that the press itself guzzles almost half of the belt - you can't even put three in a row with a one-belt setup. The footprint of this design is not so efficient too - the "snake" of piping you used to consume free space inside the design is shady, that space actually could be used to insert a second lane, or could be removed completely and with small modification of feeding belts could save 1 row in height of the design.

Awesome, finally someone who explains how things work 👍

Thanks! I hope to be doing this series for a good bit so I'm glad you're enjoying it! :D

You'd be better off with a schematic that takes distributer of coal and uses 3 multi-presses, since one titanium belt of coal can only support 2,5 multi-presses making this modular is not as attractive

Yeah. I think it turned out to be a good video but the schematic itself was lacking. I'll try to look for better ones next time

0:31 it's my scheme of reactor XD
    I can prove it.

But I didn’t understand why it was inserted into the video

I put it in there half as showing how complex some schematics can get and half as foreshadowing for a Mindustry Schematics video later down the line.
