    I made the same experience as Dr. Nadir. I cycled and hiked every day for months. Despite having less than 2500 kcal per day, I was constantly gaining weight. Every time I go on a high carb low fat kind of diet, I end up gaining weight and sleepy all day even at a max of 2000 kcal/day. After that experience, I went high protein high fat and having at least 3500 kcal per day. I was constantly getting leaner and leaner. Most people do not believe me and think I am lying or not capable of counting calories. I'm 46 y.o with decades of experience with dieting and exercising, btw

    My wife and I have been his patients since 2018. He is very sweet and puts a lot of thought into our care.
    I am very suspicious of allulose. Afterall, it wasnt until about 10 years ago that we understood how fructose was really metabolized.

    This interview was especially relevant to me towards the end where they talked about food addiction and the feelings of ‘want’. I’ve eaten carnivore for over 3 years and I can still eat way more food than I intended at a sitting. It’s annoying!

    My mom is 66 and started doing Atkins in the 80s. Now she is mostly keto and prioritizes animal protein. Growing up in the 90s, I remember having friends over and them being shocked that we used real butter. Anyway, my mom took a tumble last spring and they thought she knocked something loose in her arteries. The cardiologist gave her a few months and then sent her for tests before her follow-up. The doctor was SHOCKED and said she hadn’t seen such perfect arteries in a long time and said my mom’s bloodwork was perfect. She couldn’t believe that mom eats mostly meat, animal fats, lots of salt, and very few vegetables, but told her to keep doing it.

    Hello from Canary Islands. What a great conversation, very interesting and very good explanations.
    I like so much what Dr. Nadir Ali said about how to star in a low carb dit if you come from an unhelathy metabolic situation. And also how the body reacts if you ingest carbs or protein and fat...the analogys and the examples. Very very good.

    This describes me. Carnivore made me gain weight. Plus, I don't like the taste of fat very well. But I like butter fairly well. So, I need to eat lean and do intermittent fasting. Otherwise, I just keep gaining weight. I haven't tackled the exercise part, yet. Dr. Nadi Ali is very smart and logical. Yeah, eating meat until I am comfortably stuffed got me to a bad place, plus being full doesn't feel good.

    Fantastic interview. I work with several Indian Americans, and I’ve been surprised at how many have been struggling with insulin resistance when their weight appears to be normal. The personal fat threshold seems like it probably explains why. Would love to learn about good low carb vegetarian resources for them if anyone knows of any.

      When weight loss is a goal you want to moderate your dietary fat. Lean protein should always be prioritized to maintain lean mass 💪

    • @craigemmerich
      @craigemmerich 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not if fat loss is the goal. Then you want to dial dietary fat down a bit to allow your body to burn more of your own body fat for fuel. More on this here:
