I do the same thing, have an idea, buy all the things, play around formulating, and half the time have a bunch of material and containers that sit for a year before I even start, or never start. 😂 If I ever get around to selling candles, wood wicks all the way! They are so much more expensive than cotton, but not even comparable to each other!
Haha thanks for the comment, yeah having loads of stuff laying around is great for when you want to test, just not good for your brain with the clutter!
Can you do both in order to allow your costumers to have the option? Perhaps make a bunch in a smaller size so people can try them out before investing in a larger candle or switch over from cotton wicks altogether.
I agree with some of the other comments here. Maybe introduce a wood wick collection instead of replacing the entire line with wood wicks. Not everyone loves them so you don't want to alienate your existing customers. And .35 cent increase per wick is loads of money when you're selling wholesale.
Yes actually posting this video has helped, good ideas from a lot of you guys.. Next step is to tidy up and sort my life out, thanks for the comment :)
Lmao! You crack me up. Yep, you’re probably going to do it. You’ve gotten this far in the process. Pretty sure you’ve already decided whether you know it or not lol
Make a wood wick collection instead of replacing the entire line. Because not everyone likes wood wicks. Sometimes i like Wood, somedays i like normal candles. So why not have them both? Use the Amberjars for the wood wicks - the tin ones dont look nice with wood 🤔

@suffolk.candles I keep everything so organized that I forget it's even there or what I wanted it for, it's a problem 😁
I love wooden wick. I make candles myself and i am just testing them out love the crakling effect but they are pricey.

Good idea, I'll have a play around after seeing all this maybe doing big wood wicks and keep the smaller ones cotton is a good shout, thanks!

Thanks for the comment :D
Bro your obsession with those wood wicks is awesome! Do it$$
Hi jason i personally don't like the crackling it drives me nuts 😂but my friend loves it so it's hard to say .. i always think you should try it. 😊
Thanks 👍 I'll have a think :)
My husband too - he hates them.
Is there anyway to do both , keep what people love and just add a variety to the current listing
Agreed. Why change something thats already working?
Absolutely! Good idea..
Yes makes sense, posting this video has helped :) Thank you
I can't ever get them to work here. Maybe it's too humid?
It varies a lot from wood wick brand, some are good and some suck, shop around and try some others!
How do you center the wood wicks?
I just aim for the middle lol.

If you don't try, you will never know...😉
Best of luck for 2025! 🥳
Thanks, you too :D
Don’t do it. I’ve never had a wood wick candle that gave better scent throw overall compared to cotton wick
Appreciate the comment, lots to think about now!
