  • I'm sharing these tips, tricks, and advice for living in Mexico as a foreigner because I know that moving to Mexico from the United States, Canada, the UK, or someplace similar can be a difficult adjustment. I have tips for making friends while living in Mexico, using Spanish while living in Mexico, finding a place to live in Mexico, renting in Mexico, shopping in Mexico, and living a better a life there, in general. I've spent time and lived in many different parts of Mexico, from Puerto Vallarta to Mexico City to Queretaro to Cancun and beyond.
    You'll also find that the digital infrastructure is quite different in Mexico. You'll need to think about things like how to get the right internet if you run an online business, power outages if you live in a place prone to them, natural disasters, how to get your food delivered, and so much more. Get ready for moving to Mexico with this video and prepare yourself for the chance of getting residency as well by watching some of my other videos about moving to Mexico: • Move to Mexico (Touris...

    Tips for anyone going to Mexico: Have pesos in your pocket upon arrival: you can order online through your bank and they arrive with 48 hours to your home & you get the best rate of exchange. Download Didi App for ride service: it's cheaper than Uber and cheaper than paying in pesos, it is what locals use and you will get local's price. Also, American style shopping malls usually have a drop off play area that is pay by the hour, while you shop or get coffee, check email, breath, etc. If I think of anything else I will add it to this link.

      Good stuff! I love Didi for delivering food in Mexico, too. If anyone wants to find them, feel free to use my affiliate link: d.didiglobal.com/wL0uNfL
      I've never ordered pesos through the mail from the bank like you mentioned, but it sounds like it might be helpful. At least for the first couple hundred you might want in cash until you can Xoom yourself some pesos or something like that.

    A Temporary Resident visa is renewable for 1, 2, or 3 years up to 30 days before the 1st. year Residente Temporal visa/card expires. Not every year. Alan

      @NickDemski  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're half correct. Indeed, the TR in Mexico is renewable in that fashion, but you can renew for one year, every year, up until you're forced to choose between Permanent Residency or dissolution of your status after the 4 years.

    You need more views!! This is real news! We go down to Mexico often from Miami but i havent made the commitment to get a temp Visa. For sure Mexico uses Facebook as advertising for all their small businesses.

      Hey thanks! Can I ask how well your frequent visits to Mexico are going at the border? I've been reading in some FB groups about lots of people complaining they aren't getting the number of days they need on their tourist visas... Any trouble for you as a frequent traveler back and forth?

      @@NickDemski I've been hearing about that too. But I haven't been down since I started hearing about it.

      Here is how I am prepared to deal with the rumors when we go back: dress nice thru customs, have a plane ticket booked out in 6 months, have verification of travel plans for the complete 6 months.

      Plan B: If you get C o v i d you can't travel anyway and will be 'stuck' in Mexico.

    Can you not get it after entering the country on a tourist visa?

    • @dutkaman
      @dutkaman 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's technically a "hack" where you can apply for residency using an expired tourist visa. Although, they've been cracking down a lot more lately.

    • @TomJamesOfficial
      @TomJamesOfficial 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dutkaman ok I see. My issue is that my Filipina girlfriend cannot apply for it before entering Mexico. She can only get a tourist visa only. So that’s an issue lol

    • @DM-fp1eh
      @DM-fp1eh 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Applying for a Residente Temporal with an expired FMM tourist card was very short lived a few times in the early stages of Covid-19 and even then only a few IMN - Mexican Immigration - offices offered it with very specific situations. The offer has long expired and one cannot apply inside Mexico for a resident visa unless married to a Mexican National.

    • @NickDemski
      @NickDemski  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's currently a 'regularization' program that allows expired tourist visas to be converted into residency. But it's not available everywhere and to everybody, so be careful *planning* on using that program.
      I have videos on getting residency in Mexico, though. So be sure to check out that playlist if you have more questions.

      Omg I love that advice. I noticed that in a place like Colombia, locals wear pants and shoes, tourists wear shorts and sandals.
