Dex, Awake and Hollow Heart are both multiplicative bonuses. The final max HP is the same no matter in what order you get them. If you have 100 HP and take Hollow Heart then die with Awake, you get 20% to 120 and 10% of that is 12 so you up to 132. If you do it the other way around, you get 10 HP first, then 20% of 110 which is 22. Final result is 132. The only difference is the health gained from Divine Bloodline because that's a fixed amount. Getting revived before or after Hollow Heart levels doesn't change your final max HP. Getting Hollow Heart before reviving only changes how much health is healed by the resurrection. In this case coming back to life first heals 55 and doing it after Hollow Heart heals 76. Each time you use Awake, the 10% max HP compounds itself, but that's the part that doesn't change based on order. The amount of health healed in one resurrection doesn't affect how much you'll get later.
Yea, I noticed it while editing and honestly don't understand what happened in that moment. Like the big irony is that I even explain that earlier with Hollow Heart (that it just multiplies the current value by 1.2).
23:30 Dex: "Now I have Curse enabled, which I didn't have on Inverse Mode." Retaliation damage increases with Curse. So the boss has 150% health and you deal 150% damage.
Curse doesn't affect the damage of Divine Bloodline. You can test it by going on a stage with and without Curse, it has the same damage. I'd assume Heart of Fire is affected by it though
Recent updates have made the game unplayable for me on mobile, really chaps my ass cause I was having fun. Maybe I'll buy it on console, but that was half the fun for me was playing while I watch movies with my family. Ugh. At least I can still watch you dominate and play vicariously. Game on, brother.
19:47 it doesn't matter the order in which you gain the hp boosts, they end up at the same total value: after getting the +10% from awake and +20% from hollow heart, you ended with 5055 max HP. Divide by 1.2 then by 1.1 to get 3829,5 maxHP, which is likely what you had prior to getting both bonuses. We can verify this by checking your HP prior to picking lv4 hollow heart at 18:52, which was 3121, giving you 3745 hp. You had 3478 kills at that point, and died with 3637 kills, giving you 79,5 HP from Divine Bloodline, putting you at 3824,5 HP - juuuust close enough to the prior HP value mentioned to consider it a rounding error. So, with your HP amount confirmed in two different ways, if the order of upgrades were reversed, you'd be at 4595,4 HP from Hollow Heart, and 5055 from Awake's revival - the same HP total. Isn't math great? :D
Yea, I noticed it while editing but got too lazy to write it down. Whether it's 1x1.1x1.2 or 1x1.2x1.1 results in the same value. There isn't even more needed, the rest of the values just differ due to increasing HP over time, where the longer it's waited, the better the multiplier becomes (as in, because the base increases)
My immediate thought was heart of fire gaining bonus damage from missing health because of divine bloodline. Raising max hp doesnt heal it so it hits a point sometimes where you're gaining so much hp but are also completely unkillable your damage just keeps snowballing.
Well that was exiting. This is going ok .. Nooo, it's all going horribly! .. It's fine .. it's not! ..Oh, we're ok .. were not ok! .. Were kicking ass! .. Oh no, this is bad .. Easiest run ever .. HELP!
16:37 Isn't the red part gettign smaller because you gain empty hp? So the percentage of red hp is decreasing even though the amount might still be increasing. Edit : nvm
It's getting smaller from getting more max HP and from taking damage, yea. But maxHP increases by 0.5 per kill, while HP goes down by at least 1 per hit, some enemies can do multiple hits or bigger strikes. So when HP goes down, it's mostly due to taking damage.
I might suggest keeping the magnet upgrade in the rotation as well, just one or two levels before banishing it would allow you to get all that exp for consistent healing in the last 10 minutes.
I wonder if allowing the attractorb would be beneficial to this since you were skipping levels anyway. This would let you get all the EXP to get more chicken.
you know you can be nearly unkillable with 2 arcanas? same setup, but switch awake with silent old sanctuary. gets up to 85% cooldownreduction + Laurel LvL6 = 2min survived with death on me. but it IS kinda cheesy ^^
@@DexTag oh I guess I remembered wrong since I remember having laurel being always active in a round I played at some point, thanks for the clarification
The Reaper can't walk through blocks unless he gets pushed into them or spawns already in blocks (the same way bosses can't walk through walls except for the 25 minute boss). th-cam.com/video/t9Xrz-qS31A/w-d-xo.htmlsi=edwujEtAE66Ky9bH&t=1283 here is an example where another Reaper spawns and gets stuck on the bookshelf before getting frozen. th-cam.com/video/-YAnGSQGAWI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=QQ7Fwa_Blxj0Xnlk&t=6 or here if you focus on the bottom Reaper, there is another corner.
Its bad, most lategame enemies (and midgame enemies) have their HP multiplied with your level, while the healing out of the level ups is not a lot compared to the major threats that deal 30 dmg/hit, 5 times a second. At the point of recording this I think I either talked or thought about that I could have used magnet, but when doing it in an inverse run it ruined the run
Divine Bloodline gives a flat bonus, Hollow Heart is multiplicative. The later Hollow Heart is taken, the more flat bonuses it multiplies. It's really not...that hard to understand
funny how you don't consider laurel a weapon when you say limit break with paranormal scan is "not pure" when everything paranormal scan is just give you stats just like every non gimmicky passive weapon, while laurel actually blocks damage which no passive weapon can do. please don't milk content by doing no scan runs and scan runs and just straight up do paranormal scan on every limit break videos. paranormal scan only makes things scale faster, doesn't inherently change how the weapon works even if it makes it fire 50% faster.
Paranormal Scan gives stats that can't be obtained otherwise. It doesn't make it faster, it reaches otherwise impossible states. Checking how a weapon performs on its own but slapping bonuses on top that can't be obtained otherwise is not the same thing.
@@DexTag can't be obtained such as? as far as i know it only gives stats that are obtainable with other passives. how much the scan gives though, is a different story. fundamentally it's not very much different from, say, having all the stat growth arcana, they're both external sources of stats that are slapped on top of the weapon. and yes it simply makes it faster, e.g. 25 mins without scan is more or less equal to 15 mins with scan. of course with scan it'll get crazier as time goes on, but all it does is still give stats for the weapon to work with. (and heal can be argued as very high regen) i could also argue some arcanas technically gives something that is otherwise unobtainable for the weapon, like slash (some weapon cannot naturally crit), heart of fire, or bounces, etc. technically even boogaloo, wicked season, the projectile speed and duration growth arcana also gives stats that are unobtainable by the weapon. i'd give silent old sanctuary a pass since it restricts number of weapons, though. all in all, paranormal scan is just like many other sources of stats (passive/arcanas), simply crazier. i suspect paranormal scan only seemed unacceptable simply because unlike arcanas, it wasn't introduced gradually and broken into multiple items per stat.
@@DexTag actually here's video idea: try solo weapon limit break (whatever weapon you want) but without arcana/just 1 arcana, but with paranormal scan, the result probably won't be very crazy. yet it'd probably still be more interesting than seeing a limit break without paranormal scan and then the same limit break but with paranormal scan.

I like the Medusa that got shoved up behind the tables at the top left around 18:11 and couldn't move afterwards lol

12:45 and a few sec forward is just priceless :) Great video like always dex
I'm more amazed that Dex can commentate a zero movement run and make it entertaining xD
Divine bloodline boosts your might depending on how much health you're missing. That's why HoF had such high damage.
You are always entertaining Dex.

I zoned out watching the enemies rotating clockwise feel that attract orb would have helped later
This was so awesome. Especially the ending lol
You can actually do this without any weapons ( including Laurel )
By sealing and banshing all weapons and playing big touser.
Me: "The perfect run doesn't exist"
Dex proving that I'm completely wrong
I might suggest keeping the magnet upgrade in the rotation as well, just one or two levels before banishing it would allow you to get all that exp for consistent healing in the last 10 minutes.
Also, if you didn't banish orb, you would get the experience after explosion arcana, right?
Hey dex, as someone who has no idea how this game works, I really miss the ball hunting videos. Can you do an updated guardian farm?
If the hollow heart is taken after the revive doesn't that make it 20% of 10% so 2% anyway? Or is it 20% of base health?
Dex00: Yes Time to Die
I wonder if allowing the attractorb would be beneficial to this since you were skipping levels anyway. This would let you get all the EXP to get more chicken.
Dex can you do a run with 0 arcana(game killer) only?
Would it be better to have the attract orb in there as well?
When I do this, I get green versions of the enemies that are immune to retaliatory damage. Any clue why?
Turn off defanging enemies
Nice video!
Does duration not work with laurel?
No
Ahh, the memories

Getting silent hill sanctuary I think is a guaranteed way to win inverse as it can make you immortal with a maxed empty tome
Not quite immortal, bosses will still wipe you out. 87.5% is required and it "only" gives 85%. But yes its a key component
@@DexTag oh I guess I remembered wrong since I remember having laurel being always active in a round I played at some point, thanks for the clarification
Lol I thought of this yesterday. A laurel only run with blood astronomea and retaliatory dmg.
I've never seen a reaper just stop and stand there like that without being frozen. Weird.

surely would this be even better with attractorb for final passive
can explain why empty tome ?
Think to reload the laurel faster
faster laurel recovery, which means more invulnerability time, which means less overall damage taken.
Almost like skipping a few times instead of taking Hollow Heart backfired.
why no magnet?
