- Yet another couple of hours and the rear axle is complete!
As usual I'll be uploading all my models as I finish them, to my thingiverse account MrCrankyface.

Very good nice work
I gotta tell you, this is a fantastic piece of work! I am going to see if I can print this and put it together!
Thank you! If there's any problems with printing/assembling, let me know and I'll try to help. :)
The only question I have in mind at this point is a list of the non-printed materials (the RC parts specifically). I already ordered some new filament so all will be in place :)
The electronics that I used is as following:
Turnigy Mx-300S servo for steering:

2.4ghz, 6ch transmitter/receiver:

.
Random cheap ESC for my brushed motor:

.
Random cheap brushed motor(I got one from a friend, any 540 size motor should work):

.
Battery(Anything with dimensions roughly the same as this will work):

All the 'normal' hardware you need is stated in each module/part on thingiverse :)
Exelent!!!!!
Awesome
+Skidtire Thanks :)
What program do you use to design ??
Between this and the 18:1 gearbox, is the final gear ratio somewhere near 36:1? Which 540 motor are you using? I want to build something that goes slow and has a good amount of torque, but I think the 80T motor I was going to pick up would be wayyy too slow at like 1.5 miles per hour.
I was using a Mabuchi RS540SH-6570 (20k rpm on load if I remember right).
I was just rechecking the original cad files and I must've been confused when uploading the files. The gearbox itself is roughly 10:1(3:1 and 3:1) and the rear axle is pretty close to 2:1(29:14). So with both of them connected to each other you get almost exactly 18:1
With an 80T motor and same tires(85mm diameter) as I used, you'd get a top speed of around 4.4 KPH/2.7MPH @ 5000RPM.
good man
Good 🤝
What are all the metal parts used to make the differential? Also, great job on the model! It looks great!
Thanks! All bought/metal parts are M3 screws/nuts, m3 grub screws, 624 bearings and a 4mm thick metal rod.
What slicer are you using ? thanks !
Simplify3D
what size bearings and shaft did you use?
Cheers
+DiYSKiLLsAwZz It uses a 4mm aluminium shaft and 624zz bearings :)
could you make it a duel rear axle in the rear? like a semi truck... would that be possible?
+h1hummerh3t I've actually thought about it before, having dual driven rear axles, it's certainly doable but will take quite a lot of work to get the suspension to work with this 4 link setup. I might do it but no promises :)
+1 :)
can you give a link where you bought the shaft i can't find it
This should do the trick: goo.gl/3TbcYd
Just select solid round bar, 4mm and the length you need.
thanks,
and where did you bought the rod ends and rod ands shaft
Sorry for the late reply, these should work:
Rod ends: goo.gl/FppQml
Threaded rod: goo.gl/HqvSbb (select M3x250 or 500)
Will this fit your V1 frame?
+Tomasz Czajka I think it should fit but it's not designed to be backwards-compatible. I finally got around to finishing and releasing the V2 frame today so you could check that out otherwise :)
+Mr.Crankyface ohh, I'm glad I've asked then. Haven't printed it out yet (I have printed the other V2 parts). Still need to figure out how to print it out on 20x20cm build plate ;(
Thanks for this awesome project!
+Tomasz Czajka Good thing that you mentioned it! I looked into it now and you can print the rear_frame diagonally on a 20x20cm bed but it will be very very tight, the front_frame will however not fit.
I uploaded a modified front_frame_20cm to thingiverse which has the front mounting points moved back a bit, this should be printable on a 20x20cm bed if you print it diagonally and perfectly centered. The only difference this makes is that the cab that'll sit on top gets about 2cm less support in the front, but it should be fine. :)
+Mr.Crankyface wow, that's absolutely fantastic! To be honest I wanted to ask you for a modified version that would fit onto 20x20cm as it's the most common size, but then I thought that you are doing enough already ;)
Thanks a lot!
