    Looking super at the moment. How about another upgrade to get more ground clearance, try making some portal axles. That way you could put a diff in again and it would be higher, or just leave it as is, but the diff pumpkin would then be higher. Great car at the moment, keep going.

    What kind of shock absorbers did you use for a truck? I bought shock absorbers 100mm long and 17mm in diameter. They did not fit. Now I'm trying to choose others.

    • @MrCrankyface
      @MrCrankyface  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They need to be 80mm as stated in thingiverse descriptions.

      If you edit the frame or shock mount files, you might be able to fit your 100mm shocks.

    Hi im new to RC and with being into 3d printing thought id attempt to make this model and have to say so far its turning out really good. Excellent design and easy to follow instructions. The one thing I have yet to buy is the electrical side of things. I see you have the servo listed, motor and esc but wandered if you could assist me with a good battery choice and radio and receiver kit for a novice like myself for a model like this.. Its so daunting the number that are available and the price range too. thanks again.

      @MrCrankyface  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi!
      Thanks! Glad you like it.
      Any 3s(3 cells in series) will work, it's not a high performance vehicle so it doesn't need to be expensive. Keep it above 2000mAh so you can drive for a while.
      I really like the Flysky GT3C radio/receiver which is still quite cheap for the functions you get.

    Should i use the same suspension geometry of 3 linkages for a 4 by 4

    • @MrCrankyface
      @MrCrankyface  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should work well for a 4x4 as well. Only downside of 3 link(as I see it) is that you get a sideways movement of the axle due to the panhard bar. You could look into replacing it with a watts linkage but it adds unnecessary complexity. :)

    did you print the pieces around the motor from a different material? Or is the motor not getting hot and threatening to melt the plastic next to it? Is there a way around this without having to print in ABS? My printer can only handle PLA :(

      Thank you! I tried google translate and think you need the correct dampeners?
      I measured the shocks I think I used in this video, they're 72mm from eye to eye and around 14mm diameter at the thickest part.
      I bought them years ago on ebay, I think this is the same but can not guarantee it:
      www.ebay.com/itm/393679623064?hash=item5ba9225398:g:YLMAAOSwINZhhOPB
      Ask the seller if they really are 17mm wide, I think that's a incorrect measurement because the text says stroke is 17mm.
      Otherwise these might work at 15mm diameter.
