Seems like another way to get a similar effect would be to use a non resonant highpass filter with an envelope pushing up the cutoff triggered on the downbeat. That would attenuate the bass to prevent collision with the kick. I'll give that a shot and report back, I guess...

Great plugin, but this one is free ;) And Trackspacer is limited to ducking the signal, this one can do so much more when you start using other effects than the sidechain compressor, as you will see in the upcoming video as well! Also, this is created with stock plugins only, which we believe is a good thing in terms of work flow efficiency and stability.
