- As promised, i've finished my finals yesterday, and here I am today presenting you the QTE fails of Yakuza 5! And look at it, it's about 19 minutes long! Do you think the QTE fails in 5 are more brutal than 0? Discuss!

I love how the QTE from Aizawa´s last fight work. If you succeed at them, its basically Kiryu pushing out Aizawa out of the Tojo clan little by little, showing that his dream is getting farther and farther away, until he is basically out at the front door. But if you fail them its basically Aizawa pushing Kiryu away from the place he is suppose to protect, until the 17:50 QTE, where is Aizawa kicking kiryu away, while he is exiting triumphally from the main gates, showing that the place is basically his and Kiryu has no business staying there. I don´t know, sounds pretty obvious but i love how it can go full circle.

Someone also pointed out that its replicated again with Shishido in Gaiden. As Kiryu the Dragon pushes Shishido the Omi Lion out of the throne room of the Omi

I had set my controller down at this part and I barely managed to grab my controller and do the QTE in time. Absolute dick move by the devs.
18:42 That QTE would've been way cooler if instead of insta-killing you it fades to white like when you succeed it, but the ending changes so that *SPOILER* when Haruka finds Kiryu he's already dead at the Tojo HQ

I like the way his tone immediately shifts if you succeed. He immediately shifts from "OUUURAORARARARAAA" to "huh? eh? ah." as he realizes saejima caught him out of the air and is about to slam him headfirst into the guardrail he just used for leverage

My first time playing through the game, I wasn't expecting to have to do a QTE to hit Sawada's last pitch (9:02).
It ended up being the only time I had to use a continue the whole play through. Seeing the "1" in the "Continues" category in the Results screen almost felt like a joke at my expense.

+devilleon7 I wasn't mad, I was more just... in disbelief. These games don't normally have QTEs during the pre-rendered cutscenes.
Plus, getting hit by fucking cars doesn't give you an instant game over, but missing a baseball pitch does? I mean, to be fair, that moment is a huge emotional high point for Shinada's story, but still!

It would have made sense if they did this at the end of the Shibusawa fight. It's the final boss, and it ends with Kiryu and Shibusawa punching eachother

They give you so much time to react that missing is probably a rarity
Not on Legend, because on that difficulty they don't give a lot of time to react. Even in Yakuza 0, I missed some of Majima's QTEs. (I missed Kashiwagi's, Awano's, and Lao Gui's first QTE)

Nice video I always pick Kiryu on the Kiryu vs Saejima fight so I never knew he had a blank face lol it looked funny. I still find it weird why they made qte damage so small compared to yakuza 3 where I actually worried not to fail qtes especially Mines fight where he takes off like 70% health if you fail all of them.

Honestly failing the qte for aizawa makes him look like the protaginist

And damn...Saejima got some pretty bad luck with cars....and Shinada got bad luck with everythingXD
My personal favorites is when Shinada's ally throw a ball at him while some guys hold him(nice help pal) and of course Akiyama and wrecking ball(just put a cartoon sound there and it will be perfect)XD

I failed shinadas qte at 9:03 because i didn't expect there to be A QTE IN A CUTSCENE
10:56 I lost Shinada because my game was lagging BADLY and my controller disconnected. LOL
7 years late, but it's almost a bit more cinematic seeing an already injured Kiryu get his ass kicked by Aizawa but still continuing to fight.

Mmm, I think Zero's QTE fails are still more brutal, if only for the one with -Lee- Lao Gui squishing in Majima's good eye. That's just ouch. It is kinda hard seeing Saejima get turned into a hood ornament multiple times though.
That PoV shot of Kanai at 5:11 and 5:57 is really scary.
I didn't know if you failed the QTE at 10:57 you'd get an instant game over. That's pretty shocking. I figured the final Aizawa one would be a game over though.
It's crazy that half this video's length is just from the final chapter.

As for the QTE at 10:57, I was surprised as well, it's just so dark :S

The Baseball QTE fail should have just give a different dialogue, not fckin "Oh god I missed, my life is over now" scene

IIRC, only Ryuji and Aizawa can insta-kill you If you fail the last QTE.

How many times do you replay these games? How long does it take you to beat them?
All Yakuza usually take me less than a day, except 5 and 0.
0 took me 4 days, but in the game time, 23 hours.
5 takes me two weeks, and I'm usually in 30-40 hour range with that.
All the others less than 20 hours.
My fastest was when I got RGG1&2HD, and I got it on a Saturday. I beat RGG1HD the next day.
+さん桐生 I replay them as many times as it takes for them to bore me xD And it depends I guess, I never really count my play-time during a playthrough. Sometimes I play for fun, sometimes I speed run to record some things, like the QTE fails in this video. I guess 5 took me around 15-20 hours during this playthrough?

I do enjoy the games most of the time. But, Yakuza, I never got bored of any of the games, love them way to much! Except when you completed everything 100% and there's nothing to do... *coughs* Zero! I love it but, nothing to do :p

The resetting QTEs thing is so stupid, and having it go through even if you fail it. Why even have it then?
It's only for the first one that loops until you get it right. And even still, the ones that still loop after that, you still take damage, and can even die from them.
