Lie detectors are useless, they're easily tricked. Would make sense that actors are great at confusing them.

A lie everybody recognizes as a lie has to be somewhat psychologically freeing. Especially when humor is involved. It's its own kind of truth. "Sure, I'm a mauve, thirty-armed chinchilla with an MBA in toxic flatulence" and "I was not hurt when you forgot our daughter's birthday" are different, stakes-wise.
When you’re a candidate for the C.I.A.... you probably go thru about 50-100 hours of being taught how to lie and to easily pass a polygraph. It’s just controlling your heartbeat and when you do it enough, it doesn’t matter what you say, true or false..... it’s just about the secrets of being calm/temporarily believing what you’re saying and just basic breathing control. They have it down to a science.

Acting. If you can get in a headspace where you believe what you're saying you can fool a lie detector. So in his mind the character of Will he's playing thinks what he's saying is true.
Its really just about being calm the lie detector tests basically just test if you're nervous. Plus he was wearing at least 2 layers so small changes in heartbeat might not have gotten picked up

idk why people would think that Julia didn't want to do the Hot Ones interview. In some of her interviews (not this one) for Downhill, she obviously sounded under the weather to me (and that was before Will mentioned it on Hot Ones). Will also also wearing a different shirt here so it was most likely shot on different days.
That was the funniest one so far, I think. Will missed an opportunity when he pronounced the S in "Jeez Louise."
