I agree this should have been the first FPV drone DJI released. Their first FPV was big and powerful but that made it fragile. I was always so worried about crashing it which detracted from the enjoyment of flying it. I'm always careful when I fly, but the smaller size of this drone combined with the prop guards makes the flying experience much less nerve wracking and more fun.

I agree this should have been their V1 FPV drone and if it was available last year I would have bought it in a heartbeat. Am I confused or missing something on the DJI website? I might be blind but DJI does not offer a combo with the DJI FPV Remote Controller but you can get 2 combos that includes the motion controller? Seems a little odd more so that there is not even a option listed to buy the RC separately at all.

The drones are become more and more expensive and the batery pops up after few years and do not find any more new compatible batery... Stupid moment with my DJI Mavic AIR, all 3 batery are bulging, pops like popcorn. SAD story. Nice work! Beatiful review!
Great video, but have you modified it after the release? There was a sequence with the different ranges in CE mode with the old and the new googles. Was this statement incorrect or did DJI asked you to remove it?

Aldryn. Firmware updated; motion controller, Goggles and Avata all connect with visual display in headset. However, cannot start motors and "Low Power State" indicted in headset. Any suggestions to solve this?

So I am thinking about buying this drone. I have never had goggles on my head. How do see clear with the screen so close to your eyes? If I put my phone up to my eyes that close I can't see anything really. I want to get into fpv but I don't know about the goggles. I wear glasses well definitely need them for close up. I know these new goggles adjust for focus. Can anyone tell me how you see with it so close to your eyes? I don't know anyone that flies fpv so I can't try them to see. Help!!!!!
So a few thoughts on the Avata and pricing......1. you can't buy the Avata with the new Googles and no motion controller. Also, you can't buy the googles alone which is disappointing. 2. Also, the price of the Avata seems a lot higher than I was expecting. 3. I own the V2 googles and remote....to spend ~900 for the drone and the fly more kit.....just a lot more than I was expecting. I would like to see some real-world photography applications , not just juvenile flying through things. And something that can be done better than simply using a gimbal with a full-frame camera.
@@Emuspaul Can it take pictures? Yes it can. Would I choose this to take photos over a Mavic? No. It's a compact immersive cinematic unique perspective drone geared for video. Not in the same photography class as other drones. Not sure what application you need from this for photography over even a Mini 3.

In my own opinion, based off the specs that DJI have shown us the AVATA is worse in every way compared to the DJI FPV. Just that it takes better photos and is smaller. Its slower, has less power, less flight time and has a lower bit rate. It has 10km range compared to DJI FPV's 16km. I'll be sticking to my DJI FPV.
I don’t think it’s a replacement for people that have the FPV already. It’s either a beginner FPV or an alternate to someone that has all the FPV stuff already
