Originally, Kishimoto had planned on Itachi just being an evil person who gave Sasuke a reason to want to kill him. This soon changed, however, when Kishimoto decided to make Itachi a member of the ANBU Black Ops, a squad of covert assassins for the Hidden Leaf. He received more character development once shippuden started.
He'd thought about it, but he hadn't revealed or committed to it yet. I read an interview where he said he conceived Itachi as an evil villain and he remained as such in the Land of Waves arc, but he started thinking it would be cool if Itachi had some ulterior motive and wasn't so bad when he actually introduced him properly (i.e. around about this arc here). But it's not until the fight in Part 2 and the aftermath with Tobitomadara that this is actually a part of the story proper- if he'd decided to keep Itachi evil, he easily could have.

Kishi DEFINITELY had no idea that Itachi was going to be a hero at the end. Rewatching this, he’s the most cruel and evil character we’ve seen up to this point
I do agree a bit about it in a way but i do think he did planned a bit for the hero thing (more like a backup plan that didn't had enough thought during part 1)
"Itachi Is a good guy. You just don't understand. " Itachi the good guy: *throws his baby brother into a hellish nightmare loop that he would've been stuck in if it wasn't for Tsunade*
The original art style is so much better! It was so iconic for naruto. Shippuden style is more like a generic anime, while still pretty it's not as iconic as the original one. Those faces and hair in original were beautiful.
O Naruto Clássico possui melhores enquadramentos e melhores escolhas artísticas, embora seja limitado pela época. Acredito que o mérito vai para o profissional que foi responsável por montar os sketches antes de animar.
this is because of the animation style changing between the original series and the latter part of shippuden. they reanimated a bunch of old scenes from part 1 as flashbacks in filler episodes.
While I do like that Shippuden had more consistent characters shot for shot, the original has better expressions and reaction shots. For example, Sasuke getting up to face Itachi after his wrist was broken while stumbling like a drunk was better in the original; Itachi slowly grabbing him by the neck looked a bit better in Shippuden, like a villain from a slasher movie. I honestly wish we got a "Naruto Kai" type series, that fully remade the entirety of Naruto (from Part 1 all the way to the end of Shippuden), with new animation and fixing a few plot holes. Something that would have the much more consistent animation shot for shot like modern anime (no weird-eye Naruto in the Forest of Death or play-dough Pain), while still keeping the extremely expressive reaction shots from Part 1. Itachi should be depicted as much colder and darker like Part 1, but with his Mangekyou present (like Shippuden) and his finalized character design (his hair got much longer). Similarly, older scenes would be redone to be congruent with how stuff is depicted later. For example, the tomoe in Kakashi's sharingan start spinning during his fight with Zabuza in the Land of Waves arc, whereas they never seem to do this in the rest of the series. Also when Orochimaru summons a giant snake in the forest of death, there's a large swirling tornado effect; summoning jutsu makes a poofy cloud of smoke when used in the rest of the series, *not* a tornado. As for plot holes, that really just comes up to tweaking some dialogue. If something doesn't make sense to say or gets contradicted later in the series, a lot of times characters don't even have to say it, so keep those characters quiet. For example: When Guru-guru dies and Yamato's body falls out of him, Hiruzen says "Yamato...?" but that doesn't make sence, since "Yamato" is a codename given to him by Tsunade *AFTER* Hiruzen died; it'd make more sense for Hiruzen to say "Tenzo...?" which is Yamato's actual name, and something Hiruzen *would* have known before dying. The same goes for Hashirama noting Sakura's abilities surpassing Tsunade. How would he know that? He died when she was a kid. Either Hashirama should've stayed quiet or somebody else (Hiruzen probably) should've made the comment. Obito's mangekyou is another one. Simple fix, just *don't* show his eye when he uses kamui. That way his MS being the same as Kakashi's isn't spoiled, but there's still no weird plot inconsistency with him using Kamui with his base Sharingan. Then just cut the filler, cut the flashbacks, give more relevant downtime arcs, give the side characters more screentime, have the side characters do more, etc. What I mean by the downtime arcs is: show the characters interacting day-to-day without progressing the plot, but not in a filler-y kinda way. Let the characters naturally interact, let the viewer get to know them as a person, etc. Show Team-7 going on more missions together (doesn't have to be too detailed) so that they're actually a bonded team; make them feel closer so that Sasuke's betrayal is more impactful. If you just watch the canon episodes, it feels like Team-7 forms, Land of Waves, then immediately goes to the Chunin Exams, then Sasuke leaves, all in like a month's time. That's way too fast, and the filler doesn't really do it any justice. Make them look a bit younger in the first couple of episodes (about 10 or 11) and older by the time they go to the Chunin exams (12 to 13), so we can see that time has passed and they've grown together as a team. Show Sasuke saving Karin in the Forest of Death. Show Team-7 being a TEAM, but in a way that doesn't feel like useless filler. Make it feel natural. Just one arc between Land of Waves and the Chunin Exams, showing either a couple of smaller missions or one big mission, maybe both, but either way it should bond Team-7 together by the time of the Exams, during which they should be closer. Like I said, Sasuke leaving the village should be painful, it should feel a lot bigger than it feels in the anime. I'm rewatching the series with my dad who hasn't seen it, and we're watching the canon episodes. Sasuke leaving is impactful but not as much as it should be. For Madara's death: he can still die and introduce Kaguya, but just make it be different. The Black Zetsu backstab is one of the most hated things in anime, and I *guarantee* that Kaguya would've been more liked if Madara wasn't backstabbed by Zetsu. Maybe make him sacrifice his own life to cast the Infinite Tsukuyomi, maybe have Naruto & Sasuke legitimately beat him and *then* Kaguya comes out, just something better than "idk how to kill him. Um...... RANDOM PLOT BULLSHIT GO!"
A good mix of the two would be nice. The old style captures the cruelty of being a uchiha. It also immerses the audience through its animation. The new style has cleaner lines and more fluid animation at some key frames
I always liked the art style of the original Naruto anime, because it had a unique art style that makes darker moments feel and look actually dark. Something Shippuden seems like it has lost probably after the Pain arc I believe. Animation can leave a lot of impact on the viewer, especially it's art style.
Definitely after Pain arc. When Pain stood over Konoha there was a light shining on him making him look mysterious. They didn’t do that in the anniversary thing. It shows that things would change a lot now. Less ‘scary’ moments
I could never put my finger on it before, just had a subconscious preference for the OG. It's the artwork, it's significantly better. Thanks for making this vid!
it was always nice to see Naruto caring about Sasuke, even if Sasuke's deal with Itachi should not have involved him... Itachi turned into an Akatsuki member and Naruto just so happened to become team members/close friends with Sasuke
1:58 kinda cool that in part 1 and in shippuden they still did the comparison that itachi is so much stronger still he still has 3 tomoe in this moment compared to sasuke who still has two tomoe...
This video is perfect for showing how Kishimoto changed Itachi's outcome. In the classic, we can clearly see that his facial expressions are completely different from those in Shippuden. I believe Itachi would be the main villain of the work, but Kishimoto said that he was his favorite character and changed the story in Shippuden a lot to change the outcome of this story.
Itachi wasn't going to be the main villain anyway because obito and madara were already established obito named was mentioned server times and Itachi didn't kill kakasi and sasuke in part one
the dynamics between all the adults here is what stands out. Especially after finishing the series. Kisame’s “he’s so merciless” to sell the lie that Itachi is heartless. Old one is better by miles, Shippuden svcks compared to it when it comes to faces and reactions
I remember in the early chapters of naruto Manga Itachi just genuinely looked scary everytime he appeared 😱, he brought fear!
Itachi the good guy: *throws his baby brother into a hellish nightmare loop that he would've been stuck in if it wasn't for Tsunade*
Not exactly... there is a hint though... in kakashi vs itachi first fight... kakashi wondered why he did not kill him when itachi got chance...
That wasn't even a fight, it's a massacre.
Literally dude
Sasuke with rinnegan would fvck him within few seconds
2:00 Just how ridiculous the new arm movement animation in this runing scene? The OG is so good, so perfect....
The original art style is so much better! It was so iconic for naruto. Shippuden style is more like a generic anime, while still pretty it's not as iconic as the original one. Those faces and hair in original were beautiful.
2:04 Old animation was more badass here
Naruto 🌝
Naruto Shippuden 🌚
Boruto ☠️
Okay okay original is cool
But that shot at 0:58 I’m preferring shippuden all day, you can just FEEL his rage
Absolutely!
Agreed
nah, original has more emotion there
It’s closer to the manga too.
The original panel has more shading on Sasuke’s face to show how murderous he is in that moment.
Nah cringy edgelord light up eyes in dark trope.
1:33 Sasuke was so insane, that in the Shippuden version we can see that he was looking at Itachi and Kisame at the same time 😂😂😂
2:38
Original: *A Chidori, some smoke and debris*
Shippuden: *Blasts out a Chidori looking stronger than Kakashi’s*
if it ain't broken don't try to fix it
it was broken tho, 4:3 with low resolution how you claim it?
Some parts are so beautifully aligned, respect to the OG, they must've did a lot of line pre-recorded
3:58 The OG Itachi looked so more menacing. He was looking DOWN on him like trash vs him looking at his little brother
Scene cadency and composition in the original is better
Original easily
I overall like the older better it itachi looks more intimidating in here. Like im so immersed into it i feel like im there in person
Old is gold 🥇
omg seeing chidori peeling sasukes skin off is fye 😂
2:28 Why didn't they make the fox chakra in Shippuden?
I never liked how they retconned Itachi later. I wish they had just left him as a ruthless, cold-hearted killer.
That's fantastic, we made a tribute with Itachi & other characters recently ❤
in the original itachi and kisame looked way more mysterious
The original was epic!
They even changed the subtitles, so much effort was put into it!!!! 🌚🌚🌚🌚🌚🌚🌚🌚🌚🌚
This side by side comparison only proves how superior the first series was not only in animation but also score.
8:41 I hate my mind so much...
Nice video as ever.
What's wrong with your mind XD
Wait wtf I’m confused😂
@@swavy653you know lol
@@Siamo_dude is that supposed to be like sum hentai sh*t?🤣
Lol
I could never put my finger on it before, just had a subconscious preference for the OG. It's the artwork, it's significantly better. Thanks for making this vid!
it was always nice to see Naruto caring about Sasuke, even if Sasuke's deal with Itachi should not have involved him... Itachi turned into an Akatsuki member and Naruto just so happened to become team members/close friends with Sasuke
6:29 アマテラス!?こんな早い時から出てたのか
1:58 kinda cool that in part 1 and in shippuden they still did the comparison that itachi is so much stronger still he still has 3 tomoe in this moment compared to sasuke who still has two tomoe...
Original is better. No questions asked.
Og hits different man🤧 my man Itachi looks hot as shiiiii
2:36 What the hell is wrong with this shippuden animation 💀
glitch XD
the movement and visual effects are better in shippuden but the character details like faces are better in the OG
1:22 music goes hard 🔥🔥🔥🔥
What is the title of that ost ? Pls
@@kivzterz4698 I have no clue
But if you look up Naruto battle music it’s pretty easy to find

Original: Cruel and intimidating💀😈
Remake: Calm and Reasonable❤😂
the dynamics between all the adults here is what stands out. Especially after finishing the series. Kisame’s “he’s so merciless” to sell the lie that Itachi is heartless. Itachi directly giving intel to Master Jiraiya about the Akatsuki’s Jinchuriki plan, even Kakashi calling Sasuke to Itachi so he could check on his younger brother while in the village.Time may pass, but a “ninja” never changes.
0:41 Z-ONE from Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds 😂
The original seems better to me. More expressive, and itachi is more spoopy
“Sasuke made me use tsukiyomi and amaterasu”
- The guy that took him down with 3 basic attacks
6:39, for those who thinks itachi and kisame were afraid, even kisame knew itachi could kill jiraiya
Itachi can not kill jiraiya lol you just an itachi fan boy
@@Mighttguyy yes dw, kisame mid diffed bee, and itachi's stronger than kisame, jiraiya is gonna defeat them, thats why jiraiya barely won against 3 paths of pain xd/ Enough with fun, jiraiya can't even get past Kisame ;

@@Mighttguyy what is jiraiya gonna do against "Super Exploding Water Shockwave" especially when jiraiya can't enter sage mode that fast, if u believe he'll save time like he did against pain, u are delu once again
@ bro jiraiya have toad summons to get away from that trash ass move. Man you tryna be different thinking kisame can beat jiraiya 😂 you crazy to think kisame can stop jiraiya from going into sage mode when pain couldn’t even do it

Nah thats just another evil character telling his plans like doofenshmirtz.
@@yourfamilyfriendlykid9414 if you watch naruto shippuden you'll understand
@@yourfamilyfriendlykid9414its like if we were saying that óbito gave Naruto Intel about Sasuke when appeared

Lol. He's just talking. Imagine thinking Itachi is a good guy while watching him grape Sasukes mind by throwing him in that hellish, seeing his clan and parents be butchered...and going, "wow Itachi was really good from the beginning." That's you.
Original had better storyboarding and cinematography imo, but the new one is more polished in terms of art style
Naruto looks so goofy in boruto. I think it’s the Lisa simpson looking hair
Original. His eyes had a more sinister feel , cold & cat like slanted eyes. Relaxed silhouette. Cloak pulled up to his eyes.
3:58 is one of the very few shots where I liked Shippuden more than the original. That front facing staredown with the shadow looks much more intimidating and in line with the evil Itachi of the original. For almost all other scenes though, the original is vastly superior.
the original is literally better in every way, the animation, the art style, even the writing is better.
Nih yg gua tungguin
Yg shippuden episode brp?
Yang shippuden episode berapa mohon pencerahannya.
Damn, original is indeed drawn far better with much conviction 🔥
Even tho Itachi is still the most beautiful character in Shippuden he was even more handsome in the original 🥲
OG art style is so cold man
Original was more cinematic. Naruto & Jiraiya running had better, dynamic angles. Itachi looked more thretening.
Shippuden looks too squeaky clean
Old school beats new everyday of the week it ain't even close
Man I miss the old artstyle... The new one is better for them animating fight scenes but the original artstyle has much more life to it
i LOVE how in shippuden we see Itachi's real motives.. brings a tear to my eye how much he cares about him omg
