The point about taking advantage of a crappy position is so true. I had to correct a partner who kept doing it on kicks I pulled and he would blast me when I chose not to

This is so frustrating. I had a 16 year old kid do this to me a few times. I had to explain to him that he wasn’t actually blocking kicks and countering with a sweep. He didn’t believe me. So I showed him. Now he’s a great training partner. A good liver shot will change your perception real quick. He’s a good kid, just a little overzealous

I was sparring with this guy threw a head kick at him he caught me by the heel and threw me back. Injured both my pinky and my big finger on my leg couldnt train for 2 weeks because the pain was recurring

Early in my sparring career I really loved all the light rounds I had with John bui, he was the perfect coach to teach me to go light! Lol hard spar Monday?

      Sarcasm detected! 😂
We used to go way too hard but even back then, we kept it between the experienced members looking to compete. We had a lot of fun but I would definitely do it differently knowing what I know now, lol.

I’m mainly a pressure fighter can I still apply it in sparring without ruining sparring etiquette

@@AbdulhameedMagomnang absolutely. As with every other technique we use in sparring, we need to make sure we use them safely and with an appropriate amount of power. Some moves are a little more committed than others so you have to be that much more careful with them and this is an example of one of those techniques. The rule should always be that if you cannot use a technique with appropriate control then you just shouldn't use it in sparring. If you can, get after it.
