Nice pickup! That's a micro brittlestar, great cleanup crew and totally reef safe. The box seems have been abused by DHL, may not all be the shipper's fault. May want to keep an eye on your hermit crabs, those guys are huge and may not be reef safe. 😱
Congrats on your reef tank. By the looks of the starfish it looks like a black brittle starfish and if you have or want to get snails and crabs they should be ok. It's the green or serpeant starfish that are more aggressive and will most definitely go after snails and crabs and even small fish and shrimp. Here is a fun hint you won't find anywhere else. If you watch your tank in the dark and something aggrevates your little black starfish they can bioluminesce along their legs. Not many people know this. Good luck and have fun with your tank.

But tje question is do you have adecute light for this guys. i looks like you jave jist power compacts. you need metal halides or led for most corals tp survive. you also need more water circulation for them or they will die of slowly. hope this helps.

Honestly that starfish makes up for all the improper packaging of the coral. You have to tell us what you name him/her. and keep us updated. Want to see it grow. Don't even know what kind of starfish it is. Veery cool. Love your videoes.

Looks like the seller tried to ship it properly, but something went wrong. Either his mistake or something happened during shipping. But yeah, the extra stuff in the box seems to be the stuff he used to tie it all together. Maybe he used the white pins to try to hold the bags in place so they don't knock about too much in there.

Way way WAY too much LR in that aquarium. You need to make sure that enough flow goes all around your aquascape to prevent detritus buildup. Try and have as little of each rock as possible touching the sand, and create as many holes as possible in your scape. Do it before you really get into corals, because once you get things like zoa's that cover your rocks very quickly, it will become much harder and even dangerous to remove the rock. (look up palytoxin.) Good luck! Edit: That is a brittle starfish, and they are great. I have literally thousands in my tank, sometimes the rocks look like they are moving. Be very careful with starfish because they don't have a brain. They have a nervous system that reacts and controls the starfish which is why they are SO sensitive to water chemistry changes. If you want to see them in your tank, search for them after your tank lights have been off for a while with a spot light.

how cool your coral came with its own castaway. They aren't sea stars but a different species called brittle star. so basically the cousins of the sea star.

For the next time you get corals, I recommend drip acclimating and dipping, parasites and pests may be on them and kill them

Steff there are 2 part epoxy that you can use to stick your rocks together or what i did is use clear acylic rods drill hole in rocks and use epoxy
