Tesla's main focus wasn't semi trucks and yet they have made a class 8 bev semi which is better than all the specialist competition. I find that pretty cool.

Oh lordy, that was bearish. We don't have much clue about the CATL factory, but I assumed m3p goes into cars freeing up lfp for storage. Given the amount of megapacks seen in Lathrop, energy is ramping.

thanks for the sobriety, Lee. I once drank about 80% of the hyperbole Koolaid. I had TSLA as 20% of my account. It's now about 10. However, I have worked in autonomous driving and feel like 'solving' FSD - Level 5 - may be still 10 years away. Are most 'all-in' shareholders even considering that possibility, or is it 'guaranteed' by...next year or by 2026 at the latest. Including regulatory approval - and that's the kicker - imagine in the US alone getting nation-wide approval for FSD. The h-bulls say 'don't worry,' it's on a state-by-state basis and it's in the bag. And they assume L5 is solvable within a few years. I simply don't believe it.
The other disappointment is the 4680s - so much hype around these cells and little evidence of even half or 25% of the progress promised by now. Elon is a visionary, and also stretched beyond reason and an international 'diplomat,' and with a significant key man risk factor. And that includes mental health.
Your Tesla videos are the best.
My guess is that you overdid options or some other short term strategy because I remember when you were wildly bullish. Now you're wildly bearish.
Tesla has not been standing still this year. It has been ramping enegy, started a lithium plant, revamped model 3, and is on target for 1.8 million vehicles. In addition the semi seems ready to ramp, cybertruck is ready for initial production and fsd has been switched to a true AI basis. Oh, and dojo is ready to go exponential too.
There maybe truth in that. And I am open about it all and trying to establish unbiased reality. But at the same time a lot of overdue promises.

@@TeslaEconomist Yes, I agree about the overdue promises. I think the most damaging one (as you pointed out) was the failure to ramp 4680 cells quickly.
However, I think the reason for the terrible slump in the share price was nearly all due to Twitter. Elon tried to do the right thing but there are shady things going on in US politics which he cannot avoid. He has to deal with this one way or another.
totally agree with you. and in addition, Tesla has worked constantly to produce the car cheaper. and made Optimus. Elon said they haven't been sitting on their hands. the work ethic at tesla is the best in the world.

Last WuWa update on the CATL Shanghai plant was June 27. Only some civil works happening. Building incomplete and no equipment installed. Shanghai Megafactory announced, but no location announced. Delays could be Tesla or govt.
Tesla buying $1.7b in parts from India this year - no wondervthey need the Pune office. Indian govt has not announced EV policy as yet. Exports likely key to a good import deal for Tesla.
FSD beta are being tested by Tesla staff outside US and Canada and not yet available to Tesla customers outside US & Canada. Tesla FSD training h/w have been upgraded to provide at least 2-3 time more computing power (4th largest supercomputer in the world own by Tesla now), and still being upgraded. Imagine 400,000 FSD beta users being increased 5 fold in 2-3 years time. Tesla 's investment in DOJO h/w will be equivalent to half a new Gigafactory?
Really wish there was a site where we could place bets with the hyper-bulls on when FSD will be fully solved....or when 4680 w/DBE reach full ramp.
Hey Lee, have you heard anything about us in the UK being able to trade in a M3 with FSD & get the FSD included free in the new one. Tried every way on the Tesla page to no avail. Any info will be grately appreciated. Chris
No Giga Austin production for two weeks now. Must be a massive factory upgrade. Huge lot of equipment has gone in. Expectations for vehicles and production grow with each day of delay - just as well lots of distractions in the media at present.
What will be the ramp up time for these CATL factories? I doubt the run rate will be high during the first year.
Many of our questions have no answers. Interesting to guess and dream and wish and hope and anticipate . Almost forgot to breathe.
Keeping it real. Shrewd analysis. Chasing the next scoop and flavor of the year. Tesla is killing it with out advertising, what would happen with a proper ad campaign?
Tesla sells every car it makes. Advertising is OK if it's measurable. Otherwise brand advertising only makes media execs happy.
What image would the ad show ?…….a range of ……M3 and Fat M3…..and ancient looking S and X ?.
(Perhaps a bright shiny new - increased profit margin ?)

I do think they have made huge strides with FSD, but it’s still hard to say when it will drop. It’s also not clear if Tesla can ramp again with battery architectures other than 4680. Hard to tell what is or isn’t on the shorter term horizon as an investor.

IMO a tad cynical around the bulls. Many of them clearly use relevant subject matter experts amd than relay that expertise (eg FSD enthusiasm). James Douma of the world et al.
They are unrealistic around the time frames and likely challenges of execution but they’re generally imo bang on with strategic direction, competitive advantage analysis and on balance (carefully phrased) Elon worship. I appreciate your slant and takes a lot, but I think a little off with todays matador persona! 😂 keep it coming though.

Yep, by far the worst. Only cares about selling patreon subs and AG1 to the rubes. Funny, no one seems to have figured out what a scam AG1 is. Its $100/month for a sack of ground up, under-dosed multi-vitamins and dried weeds. The "affiliates" who hock that crap get $30 for every sack they sell. NOT KIDDING!!! That's why its being sold by hundreds if not thousands of youtubers and others. No end to idiotic consumers who believe the utter nonsense that health comes in a powder, HAHA! Agree. We choose to talk up a storm daily. We choose to listen to a storm talked up daily. We could choose to check in once each week, but we might miss the drama and excitement. Being long and retired helps.

@@davidpearn5925 I’m not confused. The configuration of the stalks on the 2017 Model S are such the one cannot see them all. There are four stalks, or appendages protruding from the steering column, including the steering wheel adjustment.

I think the paradigm is deflecting naysayers and scattering attention that is opposite to advertising, resulting in a shaken and uncertain immobility in Mr Markets' behaviour.
I look for how close Tesla can stay to 50% CAGR. The rest is the icing on the cake for now.

There's a reason they don't sell the rear wheel drive here, we get snow, rear wheel drive vehicles are useless in the snow !

The commentary doesn’t match the title. This is a distance race not a sprint. I realize that makes buying leap’s difficult, but between UAW potentially going on strike, and Europe initiating tariffs on Chinese EV’s, Tesla’s market position is only going to get stronger. If they settle with the UAW and wages are raised Tesla is even more competitive and if they strike less inventory on the market. Highland models 3 will sell well globally next year leading to 2.5-2.7M vehicles sold in 2024. Shanghai will get batteries from CATL. Better that production runs right than release models too early and have many recalls.

I have a model S plaid with 405 miles range, I can't even get 250 miles out of it on a highway and it's a 2023 model. 280 miles will not sell for people with brains in US. People want to drive fast here and 280 will last 120 miles maxx. They would have to charge it every 80 miles so they don't freak out on a long drive
The big problem with Teslas on the highway is the charging curve which drops like a rock from the begining. Best performance is carefully arriving at the SuC with almost zero SoC and leaving @ 50%. Stretching a charge to nearly full can take for ever.
@BillB33525 that's really frustrating. EVs aren't ready for people that enjoy long distance driving. That's why I want 600 mile range in cyber truck because I drive 30k miles per year

I've seen lots of good comments on this man, I think I'll give it a try I'll contact him immediately I lost quite a lot of funds when I sold off all my coins few months ago. I could really use some professional advice at this point.
Tesla is actually going extremely well but Legacy Media FUD and ignorance is also working really well. They can’t stand Elon and he pays them nothing in advertising. Sadly Elon’s attitude towards Ukraine is not helping his cause.

I think Tesla intentional limits production growth at times so demand can keep pace. A master stroke of Tesla is battery storage bc it can always shift extra batteries to storage when car production can’t keep pace. This allows them to contract liberally for large volumes of batteries without being left on the hook for parts(batteries) it can’t sell…
Tesla juggles a lot don’t think for a minute they are snoozing 😴
