ANY time I see a show featuring Pat McAfee I drop whatever else I'm doing to listen to his take on things. Say what you want about him he NEVER disappoints, including his bit at the last NFL draft. Uncensored the man is incredible and self-censored he is still awesome. The energy McAfee brings to all his broadcasting is off-the-chains!
It's actually not that outlandish when you listen to the reasoning. He never said "better". But the way Mahomes plays puts him at way more risk than Brissett so saying he will outlast, not be the better QB, isn't that crazy.
Yes, Pat McAfee is "showtime," and in that context, I like him a lot. But if you are a thinking NFL fan, depth of analysis is going to come from Pat's guest, not so much from Pat. If he wants to be taken seriously, he will eventually have to pull back from "a little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down your pants." Right now he has the advantage of being novel, and there's nothing wrong with novelty, but how long before that act wears thin? I'd like to nudge him just a tad toward the "substance" side.
wkyken I don’t understand what’s so great or novel about him. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with him, I just don’t see what’s so different or great about him. He talks faster than most football players, that’s all I can see.
i think the thing people like is the different slice of the pie. how many former player pundits are on tv right now. and theres one special teamer and thats pat. everyone sees the game through different eyes and seeing it through fresh eyes is kind of cool

The problem is there isn’t much competition for substance among mainstream sports pundits. I love Pat though. He’s a fantastic storyteller.
