What was that at the end? Do you leave frosting in writing in the rooms?

What sick mind names a hotel after a genocidal massacre?

The name originates from when William Auchinleck Robinson JP had the beautiful stone villa built on a magnificent wooded site at Craigavad, Cultra in 1876 named for his wife, Elizabeth Jane Culloden

@@hastingshotels And where did she get the name from? Was it from the site of the genocidal massacre? Were they landowners there?

@@garsm2290 Elizabeth's Grandfather Patrick Culloden was from Dublin Ireland, born 1724 which is about 20 years before The Battle of Culloden. So she has never been to Scotland nor her father or grandfather.

@@anastasiacraig2012 Culloden is as far as I know is Scottish Gallic and is of course foreever associated not just with the battle but the susbequent massacre of Scots civilians. A statue of the Duke of Cumberland (?) known as the "butcher of Colloden" was removed from Birr, Co Offaly, near where the duke had lands (presuambly seized in Cromwellian times from the natives) soon after Ireland achived self-government in the 1920.
I don't think a hotel should be associated with a genocidal massacre.
