That houseboat was a lot fancier and classy than I thought it would be. Love the large screen, and the larger bathroom! I think it would be worth the extra money to stay there. I am glad I found your site, it is fun, informative and I like your bubbly personality.
Wow what a great presentation of my beautiful city. Your enthusiasm is infectious and I'll look out some of your other reviews too. That's a great alternative option to hotels especially if you want social distancing at the mo. The hospitality sector at the mo is shedding staff and closing but hopefully bounce back quickly after virus has gone. I hope plenty of tourists come to visit afterwards. Bon voyage.
Unfortunately, I am one of those that sadly had to cancel my travel plans to Belfast a couple weeks ago. I was supposed to be there right now. I love Northern Ireland so much, and especially the people of Belfast. This would have been my 3rd trip to Belfast. I somehow just always feel so at home. So for now, my multiple trips to Sawyer's deli, and the big haul from SD Bells tea, my Punjana tea replenishment will have to wait. stay well, dear Belfast friend.
@@susandhifaoui Thank you so much for your lovely reply. Where you from? What a cute little AirBnb. I bet it stays booked a lot. Thanks for sharing it with us. Staying in unique places once in a while is definitely worth it.
The barge is so cosy. You have made the right choice and because it is so near to your conference location you will safe the money for transformation from hotel to conference so it is awesome. In these times better stay home. Stay healthy
My family is from Belfast and I always go over several times a year to see them and I love it there so much. Last year we finally made the decision that when I finished my college course we would move back and we are currently packing getting ready to move back, honestly despite the troubles Belfast is such a beautiful city and I can't wait to move back and go to Uni there.
I can't recommend the Queens area enough. If you are a student at that uni you will get to know the area well. The area is named after the Uni as all the halls and departments are there. Lisburn Road, Malone Road and all the streets near the main campus are recommended places for you to stay. You can walk into the your lectures from there. The QUB sports center is huge and has everything you need! Don't miss the QFT - Queens Film Theatre. Queens uni has its own cinema and is one of the best attractions in Belfast. You must go at least once a week. It's actually the Drama and Film Studies department! Don't go anywhere near East Belfast. Stay in the city centre and the Queens area especially if you like to go out in the evenings or for socializing. St George's Market on a Sunday morning not only has mountains of amazing hot food but music and stalls of genuine Irish and N.Irish tourist gifts and more.
@@johnfromireland7551 Why should you NOT go "anywhere near East Belfast?" It happens to be one of the quietest and safest areas in Belfast, with more amenities than most other areas, - like the world-famous Titanic Quarter rated one of the best ten places to visit in the world, with an international sports arena, its own regional airport only a 5-minute bus ride to/from the city centre, the NI Parliament (Stormont) with its "Stormont Mile" and open spaces for leisure walking (with or without the dog), the homes and memorials to C S Lewis (the Narnia stories), the coastal railway that runs 17 miles to Bangor with many picturesque stop-offs en-route, many of the famous political and non-political wall art pictorials, the biggest stores like Ikea and Tesco, the high-view parking areas where you can park to do your shopping, and watch the aircraft, ferries and leisure craft (ship and plane spotting) coming and going CLOSE-UP, and so much more that you can't do anywhere else in the city. Sounds to me like there's some personal bias in you recommendations! On the other hand, if you go to North Belfast there's nothing but industry, houses and motorways; West Belfast where there's nothing but Windsor Park Football Ground, houses, more industry and car showrooms; and South Belfast, which is another quiet and safe place to visit - if you like more houses and little else. Like any other city in the UK, Belfast City Centre has everything in the way of universities, pubs, clubs, restaurants and general culture, but the ONLY suburb worth visiting is East Belfast.
