I can't believe it either. A CUBE COMP VLOG IN 2020! After a year of waiting, the beautiful (and safe) island of Tasmania provided my daughter and I with one of the BEST cubing experiences ever.

Hey Cary! Thanks for watching, big fan. Hmm let’s do some maths to consider that rhetorical question :) if the question is what are the odds that we get the same number, then I guess once the first number is set, it’s just the odds that the next person would get that number out of all possible numbers. But not every number is possible, so I could crudely say that maybe if we tend to only get results between 10-20 seconds, then the odds are 1 in 10,000 (number of milliseconds in 10s).
But if the question is what are the odds that we both got 13.093, my guess is we’d have to look at a normal distribution centered around each of our averages. So it would then be the p-value of me getting 13.093 multiplied by the p-value of her getting it. But that only apply to us getting the same number successively. In a set of 5 solves... hmm I’m actually not sure how you’d adjust that value. Would you multiply it by 25?
Ok I’m pretty sure I made a ton of errors and assumptions just there but if anyone knows more maths than I do please feel free to correct me.

Even in the US, only Regionals are scheduled. I hope we'll get some more comps in Colorado soon, but I'm glad other people were able to enjoy the time with others in Australia.

I hope those comps manage to go through. No I haven’t learned clock yet - it’s my last WCA puzzle to solve! And yes I saw the WR, it’s amazing.

Mr. Tingman it was a privilege to meet you. I was super nervous about multiblind but was strangely relieved when it was a minus 11 point DNF. Weird. I guess I was happy that i got PBs in every other event I did. Towards the end of the comp my mildly autistic brain was starting to shut down but it was nonetheless a privilege to be in attendance.
An honor to meet you too! Really enjoyed this comp and making vlogs is also one way I consolidate the memories. A type of scrapbooking I think.

There were many weird incidents in this comp,
1) OLOR GETTING TWO 13 SINGLES WHAAAAT
2) Tingman gets beaten by his daughter in skewb, obviously.
3) FELIKS GETTING A 13X13 CONGRATULATIONS
4) And last but not least, Tingman talking to the judge about the beautiful weather while doing a 1 min oh solve.

Yeah like he literally did it faster with 1 hand than I can with 2 hands. My best time is 1 minute and 54 seconds. That was on a cube that was the Rubiks brand, but ah well

Man we all just took cubing comps for granted. We just woke up the next day expecting it to be a normal day. But man... when covid hit we are now wishing we didn't. I was gonna go to a comp in March this year, but covid hit and I couldn't. Stay safe everyone. Peace✌
