- "If I Had You" wurde 1928 von Jimmy Campbell, Reg Connelly sowie Ted Shapiro geschrieben. 1929 wurde es mit Al Bowlly erstmals ein Hit. Später folgten viele bedeutende und erfolgreiche Version, z.B. von Frank Sinatra.
Natürlich hat es sich auch Joscho Stephan nicht nehmen lassen, auch diesen Song in seiner Interpretation zu arrangieren und in verschiedenen Besetzungen zu spielen.
Mit der Performance vom 21.09. diesen Jahres, im AudimaGH´s von Gartenheim, Hannover, topt er sich mal wieder selbst.
Mit seinen Gitarrenkollegen Sven Jungbeck und Olli Soikelli, Volker Kamp am Bass und dem Weltklasse Geiger Costel Nitescu entstand eine neue Version und Dimension von If I had you`.
`If I had you` was written by Jimmy Campbell, Reg Connelly and Ted Shapiro in 1928. During 1929 it was becoming a hit in the version of Al Bowlly. Afterwards there were many successful releases of the tune by famous artists like Frank Sinatra.
So it was clear that Joscho Stephan put the tune in his own repertoire to arrange his personnally versions in different line ups.
This interpretation from 21.09.21 at Gartenheim Hannover is another dimension. Outstanding performance of Joscho and his guitar colleagues Sven Jungbeck and Olli Sokelli, Volker Kamp on bass and the stunning violinist Costel Nitescu.
