Oil change on a 2013 Cadillac SRX-4 with a 3.6L V6 LFX direct injection. Also applies to GMC Terrain and Chevrolet Equinox LFX 3.6L. These engines use 6 quarts of oil.
how are you getting 23 mpg? my mother's 2016 srx gets ~18.5, and i assume its lighter than most models as its pretty much base model with no extra addons, not that lane assist would affect it by 5 mpg lol
LOL I'm assuming you live somewhere where there's little to no dust. Come to the wide open southwest and you will see lots of dirty engines, even on brand new Mercedes-Benz and BMWs. Hell, I've even seen brand new Corvettes (C7) and Holden VF sourced Chevy SS and their engines are already covered in dust. Its hard to keep stuff clean down here.
If you do Uber or a realtor and put a TON of miles on your car, this is the BEST oil under the sun for this SRX. You can go up to 1 year or 25,000 miles on the SRX 3.6 www.searchforparts.com/oil-change/cadillac-2016-srx-3.6l-3 My cousin is a realtor and he swears by this oil. He puts 35,000+ miles per year on his SRX and his engine runs like new. I use it in my CTS and change it once per year. I got almost 2 MPG extra from the reduced friction. It's superior to Mobil 1 and Castrol under ASTM testing.
Interesting that you removed/replaced the oil filter first. I have always drained first, then replaced the oil filter, then refilled the oil.

No prob. Those 3.6 litres are easy to change, followed by Ecotec, SBC, and the 60 degree V6.
I also find it interesting that you don't replace the crush washer on the drain plug.

Why is the engine so dirty? The engine bays on these 2nd Gen SRX's (mine is a 2012) are very cool and look awesome clean.
