Thx for the ride buddy .merci
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
I've watched about every video you've posted over the last few years and love them all! Why not go with the 4K 60fps setting to receive a still crisp image with double the frames per second to smooth out the visuals?
I feel 60fps gives an unrealistic over smoothened look, I only use it for clips I want to slow down because I prefer more cinematic visuals.
Nice! I just got one and tried the horizontal mount but I'm definitely with you on preffering it centered. Curious what settings you use?
Check out the first clip where I am talking to camera, the settings are on the left side of the screen
@@MarkMatthewsMTB Missed that, thanks dude!
Sorry, but this 4K is not sharp at all!
360 cameras are softer in general, it’s not a true 4k but an upscaled 1080.
Holy, dolo, it still is sick and has amazing quality. Why you gotta be so mad about this?
@@Floppy23 am mad at all. I'm just saying
It’s because it’s fake 4K. At best it’s recorded from a small portion of the camera sensor so it is 1080 then upscale at export to 4k. Perhaps being a bit more upfront about this would be nicer, especially if there is a partnership involved.
I absolutely love to watch Marks riding and videos but really dislike the 360 camera view. I usually avoid any videos that look like they may be 360. Or filmed on a 360 camera. Got suckered in as I thought this may be a bit more about setting up and filming with proper mirrorless cameras.
@@cliveamp Thanks for the feedback, while the 360 camera is fun for doing versatile stuff and unique angles, the Ace Pro 2 is my goto for POV, for quality and FOV!
Fire
Can you do one for us half shell users ❤. I find it feels really heavy on the half shell
I don’t run the x4 on a half shell, it’s way too heavy. The go3s is a great tiny camera for that application.
@ fab thanks! Would you recommend mounting the x4 vertically or horizontally on the chest? Really appreciate the advice
@@Awmtb2 the camera follows the trail better when it’s horizontally mounted
👍
I really don’t like the ultra wide angle. I don’t need to see the rider’s armpits or their toes and eyebrows at the same time. The sides of the videos look like Spaceballs going plaid. I’ve stopped watching several channels because they’ve started using Insta360 and super wide angle. Just my thoughts, your channel, your videos, of course.
Are you referring to on the visor mount where it’s super wide, or chin? For full rides I prefer the narrower FOV as well which is why I use the Ace Pro 2
@ It’s just the field of view. Placing cameras in different positions is cool. But when the horizon is as flat as a tennis ball, it’s annoying to watch. For my taste, dial back the field of view, and it’ll look much better. On my rides, I still use my GoPro Hero 10 with the Max Lens mod, and I find that as wide as I can stand, but thanks to horizontal levelling and the FoV I can still see the bars (most of the time) which anchors the angle to something rather than just floating through the air like a ghost.
You do fantastic videos and your riding is amazing. 😎👍🏻
@@JockeSelin I agree! I like it this wide for short clips, but for longer rides a non 360 camera like the ace pro 2 is the way to go. The problem with zooming in 360 footage too much is that the quality quickly degrades (as amazing as the stabilization is). One cool thing about the x4 if you can shoot in single lens mode and it looks really great with a similar FOV to a Max mod lens.
@ I have the original One X and I agree with the loss of quality, and it can’t do the single lens mode. I only use my 360 camera when I need to pan/tilt the footage. Sometimes I use it for fun effects like pulling the selfie stick through some narrow passage (not MTB videos), but overall, the 360 camera stays in the drawer. A regular action camera does most of the heavy lifting for me. And I’ll say it again, I really dislike the wide angle. It can be OK in very short bursts. If making the FoV narrower reduces the quality too much, my take is that you’re using the wrong camera.
Another thing to consider is would a professional film crew use that sort of angles, say for Deathgrip, or such, and the answer is probably “No, because it doesn’t look good.” Anyway, I don’t want to rain on your parade, just friendly unsolicited advice. 😁👍🏻
