    Seriously a phenomenal video! Great job. I’ve put off doing my own lab work because I didn’t know how to draw the blood myself. You make me feel like I can actually do it!

      @@gloriousgoats373 I promote my videos in applicable places. Like this one would be promoted in a Goat Care FB Group or Subreddit. I network a lot in a lot of other peoples lives to help build community and doing some research on SEO and just genuinely providing consistent quality content.

    How do you keep the does from backing up! Lol

    • @MulberryBranchFarm
      @MulberryBranchFarm  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Some don't really fight and others act like we're killing them. For the ones that pull and try to back up we will stage in a corner or against a wall so when they try to pull backwards they hit a wall or fence and can't pull away too much

    When I tried with the syringe, the syringe was extremely hard to pull down and draw out with one hand. By the time I was done there was a ton of air bubbles in it. Any input on what I did wrong? I really want to try again before giving up!

    • @MulberryBranchFarm
      @MulberryBranchFarm  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When the plunger is hard to pull down usually it means you're probably in muscle tissue or partially in and out of the vein. Make sure to keep your free hand pressing firmly against where their neck v's down into their chest and shoulders, this helps to create a higher blood pressure and balloons the jugular vein making it MUCH easier to draw the plunger down and get a strong stream of blood. Bubbles might indicate that you were only partially in the vein or maybe poked through it (super easy to do and common). It's frustrating to get it down to an art but once you do a few successfully you'll be a pro. Do you have a helper to hold them or are you trying to solo it on a goat stand? I recommend a helper for sure! Just to keep your goat still and they can help hold the head pretty level and slightly angled away from the side your drawing blood on.
      I hope this helps and I'm really sorry I'm replying SO LATE! We've been so busy I just saw this!
