- Darol Anger, Brittany Haas and Tristan Claridge perform "Old Dangerfield on August 13, 2011
at Saddleback Mountain Bluegrass Festival in Rangeley, ME. A Less Than Face Production.
I have never felt such palpable energy coming off the screen. The wobbly timing, the soaring improvisations, and the pure joy of the musicians points to a master performance. You will please the angels.
Brittany is so pretty😄
Thank you Daryl for being a badass! Also for introducing me to Ms. Haas at a fillmore yonder mountain show in 2001. One of my all time favorite fiddle moment. Love you guys:)
One of my favorite works of art. I watch it at least every week
Glad you're enjoying it Terry!
listening again. This is so brilliant, surpriising yet completely rational musically, A masterpiece,
This is so good! They sound amazing together. I’ve met Tristan Clarridge a few times in Winfield KS at The Walnut Valley Festival. I competed with him and his sister Tashina and placed 3rd alongside them with Tashina second and Tristan taking first. They’re both phenomenal musicians!
Fantastic! 1st time I heard this. Close your eyes, turn it up, and feel the energy through the music. I love it.
Brittany has the best fiddle work I have ever heard on Old Dangerfield. Better than the mandolin of Sierra Hull, in my opinion, and any fiddler I have heard in this Bill Monroe tune.
Damn, they were a-cookin' it hot! I'm chagrined that I hadn't seen this performance before now, and grateful that oversight has been remedied. Thank you all! 👏
This is so beautiful!
Why don’t I see anything like this here in New York City?
very very nice work more please
Quantity and quality from just 3 instruments. Excellent!
Never play angry, Darol... That sounded funnier in my head. That rocked!!
Wonderful!
Hot Cello; should be more of them in BG bands.
I think it's hard to fit them in a micro bus.
@@endoalley680 yet they fit a double bass…
Sounds lovely.
Has that dude with the teeth been snagging casey driesens chop tutorials?
Darol has done the chop for years - not sure who was first, though. Casey is a much better fiddler overall.
Maybe the other way around...
Women with violins may actually be the highest form of life.
john sosman fiddle
I agree.
Best confirmation yet of that assertion, IMO, was a live set with Brittany Haas & Lena Jonsson: "Scandinavian Fiddle Music" at '17 Grey Fox. Almost hidden in the program. Simply amazing, then Molly Tuttle showed up.
Fawesome!
0:55 the song starts
such a bitchin song! DANCE DANCE DANCE
just wow
Wow.
Freaky.. Wow..👏🎶
You are really good, i would say!!
3:14 That sound i heard in the 1970 Dirty Harry movie,,,,,,,,,,,,really lol
Nice
Don't tell me Monroe didn't have a little funk in his soul when he wrote this tune.
I ain't tellin you
Awesome beat made by only three bows.
lol, Not even "that WICKED WIND Still blowin' on that upper deck" could distract Brittany from her tempo...
MONROE WOULD NEVER APROVE OF THIS VERSION
AS MONROE WOULD SAY ABOUT THIS " THAT AINT NO PART OF NOTHIN "
?
wow.
