  • Unique enduro mtb trails in Pitfichie forest in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The trails are built on granite rock and dirt and are littered with rock gardens. In this MTB vlog we also share the famous downhill mtb trail which is long and has plenty jumps and drops (filmed last in this vlog).
Pitfichie forest is in Aberdeenshire which has loads of natural trails and riding in the whole area. We spent time at Aboyne and Scolty too which are slightly further south (vlogs coming soon). Bennachie and Hill of Fare are others in the area. You won't be stuck for riding up here, there is a big riding community and lots of trail building/maintenance.
Quite often there are races in Pitfichie. I previously raced most of these trails in the Scottish Enduro Series a few years ago. All of these are also in the Abeerdeenshire Doon Tha Brae Enduro Series this summer (2021).
If heading from central Scotland, places such as Dunkeld or Ballo make a great stop on the way. You'll see in Pitfichie what makes these trails so different... the granite rock is grippy and really nice to ride on! There are two parking spots to access the trails and there are trails across the whole forest. Climbs are very steep, some of the steepest I've ridden to be honest! You gain metres quickly but you do have long trails and descents after.
    Trails in this mtb vlog:
    - Macchiato
    - Steeps / Resurrection
    - Pitfichie Downhill
Hope you enjoy the vlog from one of our favourite places to ride our bikes in Scotland!
Bikes: Saracen Ariel LT and Nukeproof Mega 275
Cameras: Go Pro Hero 8 and 9 Black
    Location: Pitfichie Forest, Monymusk, Aberdeenshire

Recently discovered your channel and there are some great videos here. Good that you guys vary it from the traditional POV format as you get a better perspective as the trails always look easier than they are! Keep up the great work.

Thank you! Great to hear that 👌. Yeah we try mix it up, keep in fun and show some sessioning bits where we can. I know what you mean, especially on steep bits - go pro effect always makes it look flatter! Cheers 👊

You would love it! It’s really good fun! Lots of good tech and a different beast in the wet vs dry! Although that granite rock is grippy as in most places!

You’ll love it! Everything’s on trailforks and all the trails are brilliant. Ideal on the e bike too as the climbs are horrific! You riding a few spots when up?

Going to check Pitfichie in the next few days, looks amazing. As you been there before, do you recommend any other trails except for ones you ride in this video? Might take my e-bike, so should have legs to climb a few more times and explore more...

    • @LauraJaneWeeTamMTB
      @LauraJaneWeeTamMTB  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Nice, the trails are brilliant. There’s another one called White Lady which is really good. I would ride that. There’s also one next to the downhill called old SDA track which is great. The trail centre red is pedally and flowy - good if you like trail centre! E bike is perfect here as the climbs are really steep and hard! Enjoy!

This was actually just shot in Go Pro colour. It’s amazing what a bright day and more open forest can do! In winter I sometimes capture flat then edit after as low light is such an issue. 4K on the hero 8 in this vid 👍

Hi we parked at the end of the downhill track but I’m not sure what the parking situation is now as there has been a lot of tree felling and storm damage since. If it’s there then that’s best!
