- Manager wants you to stay late, but won't pay overtime. You can come in late next day, to compensate for the time instead 😔.

It absolutely makes sense for manager to stay later. That's WHY you're salary.
I had a friend who was a salaried manager at Domino's. They worked him to death nearly. Eventually he took a demotion and an hourly wage instead of a salary. And he is a lot happier, and has more time for his son.
I love it! She said, ‘I’ll pass.”
"Ummmm...we just all need to kinda pitch in around here right now..."
Why? This isn't a charity program to serve the greed needs of the executive level. This is a business arrangement. You give me what I need, in exchange for me giving you what you need, and market forces guide the terms. If you need me more right now than I need you... price inflation ensues. I'm not here out of generosity. I'm here out of the needs of MY business, just like this company is here for that purpose. If you get that, we can do business.
If you want me to work then you should not expect me to work for free.
Im only watching this cuz its a good guide on how to handle yourself.
I love these series !
Glad you like them ❤️
Which part of the word "NO!" do you not understand???
Yea, after this don't be surprised when you are a target for disrespect.
she was already disrespected when they wanted her to work for free
I thought it was over 40 hrs a week or 8 hours a day and it's automatic overtime. So asking someone to stay late and not pay overtime, and instead work less hours some other day, is illegal.
Generally hours per day does not factor in only overall weekly hours. At least in most states ive looked into.
@@Vampyrr Might just be my State, or some States, but it _is_ a thing.
@@MarkTubeG In the US maybe, elsewhere its called wage theft and its ILLEGAL.
Last time I checked over time isnt required but optional.
Depends on state. Here in Virginia it is legally mandated that any hourly worker who works over 40 hours is guaranteed to be paid time and a half for those hours
I believe you can't require overtime unless it's expressly stated in the contract, but if an employee works overtime then yes it is mandatory to pay them.
Why doesn’t it make sense for salaried?
I don’t see how salaried would make a difference here?
What should've been said was: "If you were so concerned about not being paid adequately for the extra hours you would have to work as a manager maybe you should have negotiated your salary better or not have become a manager at all"
Because a lot of times salaried employees can actually makeess than hourly enployees and in this case the manager was probably avoiding overtime because they knew they were not being paid adequately for it.
Make less*
And idk If I should've used the term a lot, but in a case of positions that a 1 level below salaried this can be true.
😂. She says you make more on salary but later says she would be taking a pay cut for salary position
So which is it Veronica?
Better do it, before they throw a fit.
First person gone in next round of layoffs.
Staying late doesn't make you immune to layoffs.
I suppose it make sense in your mind to allow lazy incompetent sociopaths get away with laboral abuse. Either you are one of them or you regulary get down on your knees.
Betting she’s a top performer else they’d have fired her already
If they're having rounds of layoffs she's probably on her way out anyway and they know it. Some managers know you're out in a year (even though you don't know it yet) and will try their best to break your back until then.
So true but I’m so proud of her
🤣🤣🤣💎
What is that frame between 0:17 and 0:18 ?
