I actually like Trailblazers more than Sprawlopolis (and I love Sprawlopolis). It takes my favorite scoring card from that game (Looping Lanes), and gives it center stage.
In terms of the card draw RNG, I agree, and I normally don't like too much RNG. But I also think it presents an interesting choice: do you play conservatively and complete your loops, or do you go for long, extravagant loops that you might not be able to complete. There's a fun push-your-luck aspect there.

I despise looping lanes, there may be a connection. Lollll

I was excited for Trailblazers before the KS campaign but the price point and how they packaged the game (2 decks for 8p?! in the full game, the unnecessarily waterproofed cards, lack of expansion for the pocket version). I wish the publisher made it a compact game at a lower price point from the beginning. It was a commercial success so a lot of people were obviously happy to pay for this game the way it is, but I didn't want to pay double the price of Sprawlopolis which offers similar puzzle if not better.

why does Ryan Courtney hate us?! I do enjoy the puzzles in Trailblazers, and its difficulty has made it harder for our group to play it very often, so far. Good point about Sprawlopolis and seeing all the cards (and being even more conveniently sized).

Hmm... I would have made the hiking trail match the color of the hiking gear shop card... why they made it a dark brown is a bit of an odd choice..!

I don't exactly think real strategy when filming a quick overview. lol

@@BeyondSolitaireI don’t think Pesto meant you, just that the designers made the color of the hiking trail very different from the hiking camp. It’s a weird design choice.

Ooooh to be real it is almost always reasonable to assume I made a stupid strategic choice while filming. :D

@BeyondSolitaire yes.. lol.. I didn't mean you.. was directing the odd color choice to the designers. :)
