    i seen a videos of it people putting silicone grease on the spring of the clutch pedal if that not working the also put it near the gas pedal where you can see a shaft that moves when you press the clutch pedal.

    I had the same exact issue on my 11, and it was the master cylinder.

    Try using motorcycle chain grease. Worked on mine. But mine only squeaked when pushing down. You can actually feel the friction on the fork. That's how you know it's the fork and not the slave. I tried lubing everything I could, not until I sprayed down the fork did the noise stop.

    • @suneildole5718
      @suneildole5718 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did spraying down the fork eliminate the creak indefinitely? I am having the same issue as you on my 2017 STI.

    Awesome!!! I hear a clicking sound when you're depressing the clutch. Is that the clicking sound people are talking about? The TOB issue is also a non-issue. Most people don't let the car warm up a minute or two before driving, the grease in the bearing needs time to move around and get warmed up and may squeal under a certain temp/humidity. Also despite squealing occasionally the TOB can still last 100k miles.
    One issue I have is occasional juddering after a hard pull on the top end of the clutch. Comes and goes. Nothing is warped since more often then not it's smooth but it has been there since day1.

    • @LastHumansGarage
      @LastHumansGarage  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mark Ratcliffe i dont think this would solve a clicking sound. i think that is more the pedal assembly issue.

  • @LastHumansGarage

    UPDATE #1: Full disclosure. The squeak is back the next day. It is more likely the centering rod for that swivel point, and not the pivot ball.

      ***** That's great the build quality is much better on the 15 for rattles. But I'm surprised almost all new cars have some kind of rattle. Take if off-road on a trail and then I bet you will have a rattle.

    The clutch peddle on my 2017 WRX Limited got stuck on the floor as I shifted into 2nd gear going up hill! I'm gonna try and diagnosed it tomorrow morning, I've been watching a bunch of videos and on forums to try and get an ideal if it's the TOB or the fork. If you have any ideas please let me know! Thank you

    • @LastHumansGarage
      @LastHumansGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      first thing you do is grab the pedal with your hand and try and pull it back up. if you can, its just air in the clutch system. if you cannot, you might be screwed..

      @@LastHumansGarage so found out that the issue is the clutch master cylinder. It gushing out from the bottom of the cylinder. Yikes! Did a little research and it's actually common for those to go out. Reaching out to Subaru to see if they can cover it if not I'm gonna be out 350$ for both clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder 😔

      I like some things about Subaru for sure. But now I think the GTI might have been more fun, just because it was a lot smaller. I have always liked hatches. I know I have said the opposite in previous videos. I could have staged 2 the GTI with zero tuning hassles and just been done with it. Never worrying about the engine ever. and sitting in much better seats and looking at much better interior. With the same or more speed than a WRX stage 2.

      @DJT125489 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +LastHumansGarage Haha us VW guys knew you would see the light eventually. I think the wrx would be better in a heavy snow area of the country where you could really use the awd but there are many advantages to a VW. Quality, engineering, reliability, mod friendly, way better interior, dual clutch dsg, years of proven mods and tunes. If you don't care about the front wheel drive then the gti is a better car for you.
      MK7 golf R would be the best car for you but the gti is almost as good. Imagine all the fun you would be having with the new gti and you wouldn't have to worry about all these tuning problems or small issues.

    • @LastHumansGarage

      its been a good insightful and educational experience learning about Subarus though. I now know a ton more about subarus than I knew before I got this car. and I still love our Forester XT btw... mostly because its unmodded and perfect.. and the other reason its CVT which is awesome and headache free. look forward to my next GTI in 2 more years.. unless all my rabid fans start a $10,000 fund me campaign so i can swap!!! each of my 10,000 subscribers just needs to donate one dollar. WOOT. I'm gonna dream about that tonight.

      +LastHumansGarage If they made a widebody GLI that was made in Germany that came with AWD and only cost $1-2k more (rather than $5-10k) I would have probably bought that. I am one of the people who love the WRX styling (flared fenders, quad tipped exhaust, hood scoop) rather than the boring VWs they're making these days. The last VW I liked was the Farenheit GTI. Plus, Consumer Reports just trashed the MK7.

      +Mark Ratcliffe I think the WRX will really grow on you within the next 2 years. Don't sweat the small stuff. I had a ralliart for a while and hated it at first coming from German, but by the time I got rid of it find myself missing it if nothing else for the handling and brute character alone.

    • @0SumProductions
      @0SumProductions 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Say it ain't so! It's too bad that you aren't enjoying your car right now. I am in absolute love with my WRX but I am also sticking with the decision to leave it stock, performance wise. I will still put on a louder exhaust but that is it.
      Part of that decision is based on the experiences you have had - though you were perfectly happy with your car with your stage 1 tune, when you went for stage 2 is when you started having issues.
      I hope it turns around for you.

    If you picked up an STI you would have Breyer luck tuning; the WRX has a new engine and turbo combo and the tuning community hasn't yet perfected the right and safe way to add to the factory power yet. Be orient brother.
