great video , when in florida fishing 8yrs ago i bought the Cost del Mar Man o war 580 p with copper and blue , still use them in Scotland and some folk never see the fish in rivers even with their cheap poloroids so i put them on their face to look in the water and they are shocked and are dumbfounded lol
i did fishing for more than 100.000 hours as pro- fly fishing guide all around the globe.i agree 100% about what he said except i prefer " Maui Jim" only mineral glasses (no polycarbonate) so 1 pair of "dark one" for extreme sunny" day. 1 pair "brown " for average sunny day and the "yellopw one pair" from Costa Del Mar. With 3 pairs of sunglasses you'll be ready in any situations anywhere with huge amount of pleasure and protection ;) for saftey i got 2 pairs of each in case in my luggage ever.
Good morning /good evening. I'm watching from the UK 🇬🇧 bud Would it please be possible to advise what would be best for lake fishing carp tench fishing but on the odd occasion sea fishing please I will be will looking at trying to place these glasses as my persciptiom glasses if thsts possible Thankyou
No, no they aren't. MJ is fashion focused and always has been. Costa 580G is by far the gold standard. Oakley and Maui Jim are horrible for fishing. I've talked to half a dozen optometrist concerning this and they all agree. 6 of the 10 are Costas. www.globalfishingreports.com/best-polarized-fishing-sunglasses/
Driving in the yellow lenses makes it hard to see standing water on the road. Ive had issues with that in the past. I wonder if there could be another reason not to drive in them
DO NOT buy these if you live outside the USA especially if you need prescription sunglasses. There is no customer care for these in the UK or Europe and it is impossible to contact the company which has been taken over by Luxottica. I spent £500 on prescription sunglasses. The rubberised sections didn't last 10 months and I've been stranded as a customer. The UK reps who sold me them have all left the company and are candid about the problems. Very sad as the optics are superb, as Peter rightly points out.
I left Costa Del Mar years ago for the same reasons. I wear Smith now. Never going going back. They are very bit as good as Costa and if you ever have an issue, they handle it.
@@AardvarkMcLeodFlyFishing what do you think is best for seeing the bottom clearly in offshore and coastal cruising Ardvark?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, it is complicated between Glass or various different plastics.. I just want the best view and that's # 1 priority Thx...
Aardvark Mcleod seriously!!!! Cmon are you sponsored by Costa do a lens comparison on just the colour unless you are selling them!!! Respect your vids and experience but this is a bit Mickley taking when you focus on a brand. Oh and "Costa Polaroid" that's two different brands the word is Polarised why can't pros and experts ever get this right 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nicely done Pete. The best part was your shirt! In the event that you'd like to actually catch one of those things you know somebody who'd take you!
I go for Grey lenses with silver miror for flats fishing I rekon it's all right. It suits a lot of condition according to me.
Thanks for the comment, those are also excellent in bright light!

okey, now i just need to win the powerball lottery ;)
Perhaps…😅
Thanks for this. Terrific lenses but poor quality frame and the customer service is notorious - I've found it to be a nightmare! Any suggestions?
Sadly the brand has changed ownership since this video and there is no longer a focus on fishing... terrible shame...
Buy Smith only the "All the Gear no Idea" anglers buy Costa luxury brand to look posh because they slip down the face when your face sweats.

Hi, we are also based in the UK.. 😄 if you are going for an all round lens for the UK I would go with amber….
