Great thing for this build is thunderstorm oni-bi soul core, for virtually limitless lightning enhancement on your weapon, instead of relying on amulets. It has a great benefit of almost instant cast, dealing extra ability damage AND its animation cancel after your combo, makes whole build much more fluid and reliable. Other method is proccing electrocute on enemy and instantly enchanting your weapon with fire or water oni-bi - if you manage to hit enemy right away, you usually proc "confused" for 50 percent increased meele damage. What a melter
Doesn't even look like Ki Pulse is being used at all, or it's being used improperly (gaining only a fraction of the Ki you should be) which is why these combos "eat all of your Ki anyway". You can't rely on Courage for Ki returns. Also, Tatenashi is a good alternative to the Kintaro set. Way better defense and only slightly less attack power. IMO even Obsidian is better than the Kintaro set, and there's no real reason to replace it. Just forge it again. I also HIGHLY disagree with your reasoning to pick the brute over the feral. "Timing". Meanwhile, with the brute you eat chunks of damage half of the time, and with the feral, worst case is you dodge through out of harms way. I've been using the feral from the start, and once you get used to its timing, along with the enemy burst move timing, it's not hard to land it the majority of the time. It also is a godsend for those times you are out of ki and a big attack is coming. The brute can't do shit about that. Lastly, life drain isn't really great in this. You can't sustain on just the life drain from a guardian spirit and your weapon. When you eat 750+ damage per hit, and only gain back 150 of that, it's just not enough over time. There are life drain builds that work, but this isn't one of them.
@@danieljaco5974 from the 5th region after doing the first story mission there, you unlock the mission to unlock the mystic art for axes in the Dojo and the npc u fight there drop the set.
Please do a soul core display too. I’m not finding any list on TH-cam and I think people would really like to see all of the soul core visuals and yokai abilities or attacks, whatever you call it. I personally would love that. Already subscribed and waiting for a build on every weapon too. Keep up this awesome format too. It’s great to cover everything this way. I’ll wait for that list and display of all soul cores
Suggestion for the build, this is the exact build I came up with. You just need to use rage + battle focus buff. This makes it so you get a lot more than just heavy attack in high stance before stam runs out
I used the obsidian set with those stats, but since i've got kintaro, even after respeccing, setting my stamina to 99, my equipment weight is still above 70%. Decided to roll with it and still works, but is there a possibility where you still can have the desired equipment weight?
Hey I know this is 2 months old but getting the Yasakani Magatama allowed me to mix up one of my pieces with the Kintaro Set that allowed me to get below 70%
Sounds like a good build for getting good use out of flux 2. A lot of the time doing the double ki pulse seems pretty button intensive in the middle of a fight, but if all you gotta do is throw heavies you probably have plenty of brain power left and it'd probably end up getting you an extra swing or two before you have to get that ki back. Also wonder if there might be a good water variation since water is so synergic with regen and the water buffs are right next to the regen talisman. Not to mention saturation ups your damage even higher, though you might not even need it. Also does poise work with casting? Might make slow stuff like geyser talisman actually worth using with a set up like that.
Its literally the difference between being able to pull off 2 straight combos or 6, and pulsing after two levels becomes intuition, you dont even think about anymore. Ki pulsing literally makes or breaks this build.
I live for these build videos, i didn’t use one in the first game but I’d like to this time around. Also, Not sure if you covered it but if you could make a vid on farming Amrita/soul cores strategy or how u personally farm that would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏾.
Release a tonfa build and guide! Tonfas are so fucking good. Never tried them and I put the shifting poison skill effect on pulverize man and just poison people in one combo and its boosts damage by 60%
Press triangle to win \o/ it's a bit of a brainless build but it's so effective. Super tanky and poise for days, with high HP and Ki damage output that just melts through everything. Revenant farming is a breeze with Rumbling Earth II, just activate the grave, hold triangle then lock on as soon as they appear and it will oneshot anything weak and reduce most others to a 1 or 2 hit combo to finish them off. The Ki damage alone is enough to make axe one of the best classes in the game imo, at least for simply getting the job done and making progress, farming etc.
Using the axe now with similar build and noticed the "Titanic Strength" skill is broken. Consumes the same amount of KI as a low stance light attack. It is great because you can dodge around in low stance then punish big time with that Skill. You can also roll a "Titanic Strenth Skill buff on the axe. Has totally trivialized the game once I found this out. Burns through enemies ki in no time. Wouldn't be surprised if it gets patched. I think it only counts the ki loss for the first part of the move, but not the big slam at the end.
I have the full obsidian set plus the sword. Haven’t found the axe yet. I’ve tried tempering Imbue lightning on my current axe with no luck. I’ve gotten 8 imbue waters and 5 imbue fires after many reloaded saves from the cloud. Probably just going to farm for the axe more tomorrow...
Pray harder to RNGesus :p I got a lucky regular Umbracite roll to imbue water and then a little while later, after I picked up some Quality Umbracite, imbue lightning came up in the table. Suffice to say, it wrecks, especially with Shin-Roku main and Ame-no-Mitori secondary for a combined 25% bonus lightning damage. Focus on twilight or NG+ missions that give Quality Umbracite as a reward.
BappinProductions Oh that was two weeks ago. I’m done with Way of the Strong and have everything now and waiting for Way of the Demon. Level 300 atm with a +8 weapon. Not really going for a +10 since it’ll get replaced.

I tried something like this. But I used also Inosasao with Onryoki combo for mid-attack damage taken resistence bonuses, so take less damage while attack spamming. Quite good and kinda enjoyable to use build, but, unfortunately, as for me - very boring. It was worth trying for fun once, but I couldn't play it all the time. I also just can't stand how slow and short it runs after fast Heart/Courage oriented light/med armour builds. Also I have very hard time with Azai Nagamasa with this build on hight leveled missions for reasons unknown to me... And only way I beat him - is summon 3 Scampuss for help, who kicked him to death while I distracted and trying counter.
I love the axe. It just hurts me that high stance strong attacks and heaven and earth finisher is like the entire build. Or mad spinner or something. Wish there was more variation to axe gameplay I guess is my point.
Tonfas and odachi have plenty of break to match. Tonfas also do the most ki damage in the game, while the Odachi is faster with better range. Axe has so much break to make up for slow attacks and short range. Very satisfying indeed.
This build has barely any use for lightning beyond the fact that lightning is the easiest element to supplement with guardian spirits. You'll kill most things before shock is even procced anyway, so that's almost irrelevant. Literally any axe on this build would work if you make sure it has strong attack bonuses
It's less risky due to the crazy ammount of life steal, the heavy armor, toughness, etc. In a ninjitsu build, you'll still die in a couple of hits cause light armor, but with this build, you can face tank a boss and not even worry about using elixirs.
Regarding this build: the kintaro set bonuses are really questionable imo. Rumbling earth is a shit skill, way too slow so that bonus is wasted. The armor is also incredibly heavy, putting you at above 70% weight even with 99 stamina. I would recommend mixing and maching the golden boy and samurai from the darklands sets, kintaro just isn't that good. Just keep an eye out for imbue lighting inheritable to put on your obsidian samurai axe and soul match now and then to keep it up to date. For the armor, its not necessary to upgrade at all, the effect bonuses are waaay more valuable than the tiny bit of defense from wearing higher level armor.
