Depends on the fish species, in general tho we are allowed to keep the fish we catch as long as they are within regulation guidelines…

What’s the regulation for these Shad? I think in DC it’s prohibited to keep them but what about VA?

I’m pretty sure that u can keep Hickory Shad and Gizzard Shad but not American Shad in the state of VA
