  • Once in a life time experience...The last day before returning home this huge iceberg cracked right in front us.
We were quite baffled so please disregard the at times stupid commentary ;-)

This ice doesn't need to be so old. Did you know that only 6.000 years ago there were no glaciers on the main land of Norway? While only 18.000 years ago there was so much ice on the poles that the north sea didn't even existed? The water level was 122m lower than it is now. Sea levels rise and fall rapidly all the time. It's a big misconception that all the glaciers are still from the last ice age hundreds of thousands of years ago. . But sssttt... Don't mention it. People might take the global warming story less serious if the knew 😉

😂 Yeah, there's another of these calving videos from another source, who exaggerated and overreacted to the nonexistent danger they apparently assumed they were in! The funny thing is that they were darn near twice as high above the water line as ^they were, and further from the edge too. Also they were watching a smaller, less significant calving event.
But yet they kinda freaked out and forgot all about capturing the video! Instead, the guy starts running uphill as if his life depended on it, while flailing the camera around. They looked to be at least 100-150 feet(30-45m) above the water line, and at least 300-400 feet(100-125m) from the edge of the water, and the highest waves wouldnt have exceeded 15-20 feet(4.5 - 6m) in height! 😁
