So much to say! EXO has some of the best vocalists in the industry. They are also consummate dancers. They are known as The Vocal Kings of Kpop. The five vocalists in the middle can all hit high notes and falsetto without blinking. The two rappers on each end have the deepest voices, although, Kai, the main dancer who isn’t there (serving military duty) also has a great lower voice. Yes, Baekyun is a flirt and the fun member. Kai is also a bigger flirt and known for wearing chest exposing shirts, half shirts, ripped shirts, and has a deep searing eye contact that is swoon worthy. They are the whole package: vocals, choreography, rap, performers, and visuals. And also seem to be the sweetest people in real life. Definitely watch their performances of any and all of these songs. Live performances are THE best, and concerts are out of this world. Don’t overlook their dance practices! What you heard in the MV wasn't even close to what they can do live. :D As the English lines in "Monster" say ... They're "Creeping, Creeping, Creeping .... Creeping in your heart babe" "You can call me Monster (because) I'm creeping in your heart babe." "She got me goin' crazy." The song's called "Monster," so the words are about acting like a monster: "Don't be afraid, love is the way ... I'm sorry, you make me sooo craaaazzzy, you know you dooooo." The song is about how they know they are bad for the person that they are in a relationship with, and they will most likely ruin them if that person stays with them. In the song, they are talking about how, I know that when we are over that I will have destroyed everything that is good about you, but I don't care because I want you so much that it doesn't matter to me. Therefore, it's good that "you can call me monster" because they are being straight forward and warning you from the very beginning, so you can't say you were blindsided by their actions. "The First Snow" is a B-side song on one of their winter albums (They have more than one winter/holiday album). The song is about the magic of the first snowfall of the season and how it's the perfect atmosphere to fall in love. This song is so popular that you can hear it being played all over the place in Korea on the first day it snows, and it's pretty much considered a winter anthem that gets played nonstop all season long, especially around the holidays. The "Don't Go" lyrics compare their love (i.e. EXO-Ls) to a butterfly and the hand movement they were making is supposed to be a butterfly, which is part of the choreography for the song. You should check out one of their live concert performances of the song to see what I mean.
EXO's "Power" was also used as one of the theme songs, along with their song "Growl," during the 2018 winter Olympics. EXO even performed both songs during the closing ceremony. As "the nation's boy group," EXO was the only Kpop group to be selected to perform at the Olympics. (The Main Vocal Line, is great in versatility) Baekhyun now has started his own company INB100, and Chen and Xiumin have signed with his company as well (Exo CBX staying together 😊 Love it. As you just saw, "Miracles in December" is a song that is only sung by EXO's three main vocalists, Chen, Baekhyun and D.O. However, you will see all the EXO members in the MV because it tells another part of EXO's story.
There is no MV for "The Eve" because it's a B-side track. However, it's the B-side song that they promoted with, along with their lead track "Ko Ko Bop," so they have a dance practice video for the song you will have to check out. "The Eve" is one of their most iconic songs and performances.
"Mama" is EXO's debut song. When you watch that MV and get to know EXO better, you will understand why D.O. was making jokes and they were all laughing when he introduced "Mama." EXO's debut and group concept is unlike anything you have ever seen before and "Mama" is one of the most epic debut songs and MVs ever created. This is the song and MV that explains EXO's entire storyline and concept. If you are ever going to understand anything about EXO you have to watch BOTH their EXO-K (Korean) and EXO-M (Mandarin Chinese) versions of their "Mama" MVs.
"Overdose" is about overdosing on love like a drug and been trapped within a maze, so the sound of the song is supposed to be disorienting because you are supposed to feel like they are being brainwashed and unable to find their way out, etc. (Fun fact: This is the last MV that has all 12 members in it.)
LOL, you've seen their "Monster" MV. So, why were you so shocked? ;) You just discovered why EXO are so highly respected for their vocal talent. What you heard in the MV wasn't even close to what they can do live. :D As the English lines in "Monster" say ... They're "Creeping, Creeping, Creeping .... Creeping in your heart babe" "You can call me Monster (because) I'm creeping in your heart babe." "She got me goin' crazy." The song's called "Monster," so the words are about acting like a monster: "Don't be afraid, love is the way ... I'm sorry, you make me sooo craaaazzzy, you know you dooooo." The song is about how they know they are bad for the person that they are in a relationship with, and they will most likely ruin them if that person stays with them. In the song, they are talking about how, I know that when we are over that I will have destroyed everything that is good about you, but I don't care because I want you so much that it doesn't matter to me. Therefore, it's good that "you can call me monster" because they are being straight forward and warning you from the very beginning, so you can't say you were blindsided by their actions.
"The First Snow" is a B-side song on one of their winter albums (They have more than one winter/holiday album). The song is about the magic of the first snowfall of the season and how it's the perfect atmosphere to fall in love. This song is so popular that you can hear it being played all over the place in Korea on the first day it snows, and it's pretty much considered a winter anthem that gets played nonstop all season long, especially around the holidays.
The "Don't Go" lyrics compare their love (i.e. EXO-Ls) to a butterfly and the hand movement they were making is supposed to be a butterfly, which is part of the choreography for the song. You should check out one of their live concert performances of the song to see what I mean.
EXO's "Power" was also used as one of the theme songs, along with their song "Growl," during the 2018 winter Olympics. EXO even performed both songs during the closing ceremony. As "the nation's boy group," EXO was the only Kpop group to be selected to perform at the Olympics. If you like the sound of "Power" in this video, just wait until you see their live concert performance of the remixed version of the song. You should check out their "Diamond" + "Coming Over" + "Run This" + "Drop That" + "Power" set at their EXOPLANET #4 The ElyXiOn in Seoul in 2017. ("Power" also has an MV.)
"Cream Soda" is their most recent song at the time, and the whole reason why they were on Dingo's Killing Voice was to promote this song and album, which is why they performed the whole song.
