Why not? Land area is not a sole factor to appreciate a place. It is the development of the place that matters more. Both are 2nd largest metros of two countries so it makes sense to compare them. And per comparison, Metro Cebu looks more modern and more developed than Metro Hanoi.

Not really. Cebu is even better than Manila. As a former expat who had lived in Taipei and HK before, I and my friends prefer Cebu over Manila because it offers the best of both worlds - a metro surrounded by beautiful tourist spots; while Manila is just a congested metro with very far tourist spots.

Metro Hanoi encompasses a huge area, over 6 times the size of entire Cebu Province. Ho Chi Minh is also not a fair comparison to Cebu because the former used to be a capital city as well, before Vietnam was unified in 1975. Ho Chi Minh used to be the capital of South Vietnam while Hanoi was the capital of North Vietnam before the Vietnam War ended in 1975 in what was known as the Fall of Saigon, in reference to the capture of Saigon (free Vietnam) by Communist army from North Vietnam. Vietnam used to be divided into two separate states: North Vietnam which was a communist state and South Vietnam which was a free state also known as French Indochina.
but the huge land area of hanoi is underdevelop. only 6-10% is the urban area the rest its cover with ricefields and any agricultural products. nothing special about Vietnamese cities the only thing that amazed me is how they distribute the developments of there cities throughout the country and far cleaner and organized compare to the cities of Philippines.

In the video is not Manila but Cebu. Manila and Cebu are two different cities. Manila is located in Luzon while Cebu is located in Visayas. As I can see, these two skylines matched naman. Both of these are developing to a greater metropolis in the future.
