Buckeye fan here. I met an Oregonian (or another Oregon newspaper) media team when doing volunteer work in 2011 at Tohoku Tsunami relief in Iwate Prefecture. They were so kind and helped us volunteers as well as getting a story to write on. I have my one impression of the state of Oregon through that newspaper. It is a privilege to play Oregon on New Year's day in the Rose Bowl. No matter who wins, I will always remember just regular Oregon people as those who care beyond the world of sports.
Most commentators I’ve heard claim Ohio State would have won in Autzen if they had that 1 or few more seconds left. That argument is a bit presumptuous. A field goal attempt could have failed for several reasons: A straight up miss, a bad hold, a bad snap, a block, a penalty. Furthermore, Oregon had key players out due to injuries. Plus there were other officiating calls and circumstances that swung against the Ducks. I agree this next game will not turn out the same, Ohio State will have a new plan and great experience for a rematch - and ditto for Oregon. Granted, the Buckeyes had a great game on both sides of the ball when they stomped Tennessee; they played at their ceiling. Can they, or will they play like that against Oregon in the Rose Bowl? They can, but must play to know whether they will, or not.
Buckeye fan here. I feel like the sports media is legitimately not talking about Oregon to get under the Ducks skin. That, and they want to blast Ohio State if they lose and pounce on Ryan Day. Hate it. It's the Rose Bowl! The Grandaddy of them all. This is the best bowl in the country. lets show the country how the Big Ten puts on a show! Good luck, Oregon! Go Bucks!
To quote the late legendary ohio state coach Woody Hayes when asked if there is any team he wouldn't want to play, he said a team that I beat earlier in the season. It's very difficult to beat a team twice in the same season. He also said the worst is to be ranked number one, because young players start to believe all the stuff they hear and they get knocked off.
Oregon EZ 48-24. Heard the narrative, a 1 point win by Oregon due to Ohio state Howard blunder.... NAH.. Oregon had 500 yards of offense, recovered 2 fumbles, Howard was running for his life (without Oregon's top ten NFL rusher Burch even playing), so called experts are wrong, OSU beat TN in cold weather they won't have in Rose Bowl. Oregon's bad coaching and Refs cost them at least 14 points-- so Oregon should have won first game easily by 15+
Even with those players being healthy, Oregon STILL allowed Penn State to gain close to 300 yds on the ground. I'm sure coaches at Ohio State watched that game to see the schemes that were used. Add in the home field advantage and how their qb had to call 2 timeouts (1 in the first half and another in the 3rd qtr) because the crowd was super loud...I don't think this time around, the results will be the same
I think this game comes down to making the adjustments to the zone concept Ohio State has used too help the running game come alive if they break that code you can figure out away to slow down the passing attack we have the edge rusher to get in Wills face and cause problems (side note Howard has thrown 4 INTS in his last 3 games compared to DGs 1 INT in his last 3 games) I think the first points off turnover wins the game
This statement shows you are ignorant to what Ohio State is. They are the most talented team in CFB bar none. Oregon is #2. This is the national championship game.
You figured out everything there is to know about football but can't grasp it's a kids game. People need to work and have other responsibilities and don't have the time to go into details.@clydeorris4093
Oregon gelled quicker than Ohio State this season. But Ohio State is peaking at the right time. And lets be honest, ohio state lost the first game more than Oregon won the game. Going to be a good game
and that is exactly why Oregon will win. After the Ducks won the last game Ryan Day did not give one second of respect to Oregon for winning. Oregon left 12 points on the field due to their own unforced miscues, not because of Ohio St Defense. And Jordan Burch, The Ducks stellar D-lineman did not play. Oregon by 7.

Great podcast James & Bill! Go Ducks!

This OSU game plan will be entirely different than the first game, especially the defensive plan. I'm anxious to see how your QB handles the pressure.

Good job guys you’re doing good! Go Ducks Merry Christmas
Absolutely blown out. Y’all spent 23 million for this roster? Haha Go Bucks!!

All OSU needs to do to win is be a half step faster on the snap or on the route, or expend 5% more effort, or 5% more intellectual clarity.

Two great offenses, whoever runs the ball the best will most likely win. Oregon outran them last time 155 to141.
It would have been by more with a correct call on the Basa int.
Ohio state isn't a great football team, their only chance is if their qb wins the game.
hahahahahahahahahahah clown
