- Have you been stocking up on back-to-school deals at Walmart and Staples this week? Getting shoebox essentials like crayons and notebooks at their lowest prices really helps stretch your dollar and allows me to pack quality shoeboxes at best value prices (and to be able to bless even more children)!
Did you know you can make DIY crayon packs by evenly dividing 24 count crayon boxes into two sets of 12 crayons? Making affordable crayon packs for pennies is a great way to ensure every box gets a decent amount of crayons and these are also perfect to send to the processing centers as filler items for boxes that don't have any school supplies.
I'm also preparing my toothbrushes today to have a simple, but lovely presentation for the child. I really like this tip I received last week from a viewer.

i love the creative way you are saving money and also blessing these children with your crayon packs! This would make for good quality filler to use at the processing centers. Also a great way to get kids involved in the process. Thank you for sharing your ideas and inspiration!

I do this, but use the Wal-Mart 4x4 snack bags found on the grocery side.

@@KellysKidz I looked at my baggies and actually they are 5.1 x 4.7 which makes them a little wider. They are about .75 cheaper than yours and you don't have to have a flap. I also used 4 x 4 zip locks off Amazon and 12 crayons fit perfectly in those. Sometimes, I use the Wal-Mart jewelry bags that are 3 x 4 and divide the Crazy Art 24 packs into 3 packs (8 crayons each) to put in pencil packs to send as filler. I hope this makes sense.

I love the ideal of putting the card stock with picture on it. These crayon packs turned out adorable. I usually buy crazy art or crayola but bought the pen and gear because the price
Was right this time. I to put my toothbrushes in pretzel bags. I do think its a good thing to keep clean. I’m sure the child will fine something to do with the bag😊. Thanks for sharing

I like those crayon packs; sometimes it’s hard to fit a 24 pack in a shoebox; so this is a great idea. I think the kids will appreciate a nicely wrapped toothbrush.

Those turned out cute 🥰 I make my crayon packs with the smaller zipper bags and put 8 crayons in each bag. I also buy the colors of the world crayons when they are on sale and I put 1 in each bag.

Cute! Would it work if you folded the top of the pretzel bag down over the toothbrush and seal it with a sticker like you did the crayon packs? That might be cute!
