Fun fact: there are two versions of the vodka bottle in HLA: one is the full, regular bottle which you find all over the place. The second is a bottle with slightly less fluid in it, specifically drop on jeff by Larry, implying he'd taken a swig earlier.

Yeah, this game got almost all russian writings in the game right. There only a few mistakes, like in zoo on one poster they translated “bugs” like “errors(ошибки)» instead of “bugs-animals(жуки)».
I wonder if that is one reason why we never got 3, they were perfectionists and when they hit some stumbling blocks they put way too much effort in just to fail

Barnacles attach and lift only the hat off your head, so hats do protect you from barnacles. (4:10) Kinda ironic since we meet him with a barnacle grabbing his leg. Someone also said it could have been for headcrabs as well, so I think there are a lot of uses to a spikey helmet in the quarantine area for Larry.

At the Anomalous Materials lobby after you alight from the Black Mesa Inbound tram. There’s a small computer in the bottom left corner of the lobby, if you press E on it it’ll cause it to open, causing a scientist nearby to tell Freeman to get away from there before he closes the screen again.

You can assume he is looking at what he just did. Maybe that’s exactly what he is doing every time we spot him. Maybe he just nudged something and he’s looking at the result.
I'm sooooo happy Half-Life: Alyx was a success. This is exactly what makes VR special, it's all the little interactables, details and general fluidity of the gameplay that makes it great.
I just finished the game. I don't remember the last time a game made me think about it for so long afterwards. It's like, I experience everything myself. Mind blowing and revolutionary.

@@winson181 playing on the oculus rift cv1.. yeah, there's still way to go with these headsets, but the graphics card power required goes up a lot.. This is the first "horror" game where i'm not like "meh, i dont want to get scared, I'll play something else." I really love it! And the feeling of entering the Matrix is still there every time i put up the headset.
I hope Half-Life 3 is like the OG games, but I still want more VR Half-Life. Imagine if Gordon's story was played normally and Alyx's was in VR with the Russells.

I love the fact that people are innovative and abused the game physics and used open boxes to store their stuff and eliminated the 2-item storage restriction.
Well to be honest it doesn't always work flawlessly. Often enough did items bug out of my trash can because I just placed it on the bottom and looked around in the room. I come back and there's only 1 out of 5 grenades left.
I think it really need to see all other 3A company decision to make a 3A VR on it. You can see over these years, there is no 3A VR game in the market. There may be have some good vr game just because the VR standard is low, so a slightly good vr is called good. But it is just NOT ! after you played Alyx.

I like to think that even if he sees him, he's savvy enough to know that it's futile to just run after him. He'd have to thoroughly trap him, though I really doubt that humanity can trap Gman better than the combine did, or that it's even possible at all since he seems to operate on several dimensions
Hopefully there would be a another perspective that allow us to play as Larry or another character, just like the one of the Resident Evil serie I ever played before.

Half-Life: Alyx is a small game compared to the first two games, level wise; but still it's 66GB once installed. I fear to think how big HL3 will be once it's out. I'm betting more than 100GB.
Blame the extremely high detail on all of the models and the extremely high texture detail. In what game could you pick up newspapers and read every word and have things not be extremely blurry when you got up close. I don't think people realize how much work into that. The grub canister is a perfect example of something more detailed than I've ever seen in a game.
IF there will be a Half Life 3. Valve is known for ending their games on Cliff Hangers and putting their future games on the back log for a long time. People were expecting HL3 11 or 12 years ago. But Im hoping they are doing this to demonstrate their Source 2 Engine. Hopefully we can get a Team Fortress and Counter Strike VR as well since they are all on the same gaming engine.

The amount of care that went into this game is just mind-boggling. Seems only right that as their return to full-fledged game development and their flagship series that they pull no punches and pull out all the stops.

I always thought that they failed with teleporting a cat properly, which resulted in something horrible, hence the nightmares. Also, in HL:A you can find a poster early in the game (laundry room, i think) mentioning a missing cat. Either it's a coincidence, or they were already experimenting with teleportation technology five years prior to HL2.

It is actually possible as there is a rudimentary dev-mode that allows for mouse/keyboard input, including jumping and sprinting. Do note that it is not meant to be played that way and it's rather broken, with a lot of interactions being impossible in that way.

I know Alien Swarm (one of Valve's lesser known source titles played from a top-down perspective) can be run in first person using console commands too, although it is very broken and it is obvious that it isn't meant to be played that way.

I'm sooooo happy Half-Life: Alyx was a success. This is exactly what makes VR special, it's all the little interactables, details and general fluidity of the gameplay that makes it great.
I just finished the game. I don't remember the last time a game made me think about it for so long afterwards. It's like, I experience everything myself. Mind blowing and revolutionary.
@@Cambaudio me too. I played it on my oculus rift s and it make all other VR game these years like shit in comparison. I hope there will be a much higher resolution VR set because although Alyx is amazing but the resolution is still low for distance sight.

Well to be honest it doesn't always work flawlessly. Often enough did items bug out of my trash can because I just placed it on the bottom and looked around in the room. I come back and there's only 1 out of 5 grenades left.

I think it really need to see all other 3A company decision to make a 3A VR on it. You can see over these years, there is no 3A VR game in the market. There may be have some good vr game just because the VR standard is low, so a slightly good vr is called good. But it is just NOT ! after you played Alyx.
I think the best way to promote VR is that console need to support it. If PS5 and XSX support them, it will be a total another story.

Mods will make Alyx flat screened but you'll have to wait a little bit, and you won't get to use alot of the mechanics that VR would use, and you're stuck with HL2 weapons.

Half-Life: Alyx is a small game compared to the first two games, level wise; but still it's 66GB once installed.
I fear to think how big HL3 will be once it's out.
I'm betting more than 100GB.
Blame the extremely high detail on all of the models and the extremely high texture detail. In what game could you pick up newspapers and read every word and have things not be extremely blurry when you got up close. I don't think people realize how much work into that. The grub canister is a perfect example of something more detailed than I've ever seen in a game.

IF there will be a Half Life 3. Valve is known for ending their games on Cliff Hangers and putting their future games on the back log for a long time. People were expecting HL3 11 or 12 years ago. But Im hoping they are doing this to demonstrate their Source 2 Engine. Hopefully we can get a Team Fortress and Counter Strike VR as well since they are all on the same gaming engine.

I hate to be that guy, but the cat was actually found by data miners in hl2 and it appeared to be a half cat half human hybrid
I always thought that they failed with teleporting a cat properly, which resulted in something horrible, hence the nightmares. Also, in HL:A you can find a poster early in the game (laundry room, i think) mentioning a missing cat. Either it's a coincidence, or they were already experimenting with teleportation technology five years prior to HL2.

It is actually possible as there is a rudimentary dev-mode that allows for mouse/keyboard input, including jumping and sprinting. Do note that it is not meant to be played that way and it's rather broken, with a lot of interactions being impossible in that way.
