I spent decade+ visiting every province of China fascinated by so many unique things, places, foods, applied technology and people, I think I can't get enough time in my life to see it all. It is so shameful that the propaganda we are spoon fed in the west keeps us so ignorant about this whole parallel world. We think we are the cool guys in the hood, but China put us to shame.

I'm Canadian like you. I rarely felt crowded in China as the country's land mass is huge. The roads, sidewalks, and community squares are huge. Being in a crowd is by choice. If you don't want to be bothered, just stay out of the busy areas.

I think you have the 10 years multiple entries visa to China, is that right? It's valid again now as you have known. Besides, since they suspended it for almost 3 years due to the pandamic, when this visa is expired, you can apply another 3 year multiple entries visa for free.

Actually this is not correct. CHONGQING city center has a population less than Guangzhou, Shenzhe, it could rank only about 7 or 8th only.
Chongqing City's pop is not 30 mil, but Chongqing Municipality maybe.
But Chongqing Municipality is larger than some province like Hainan & Ningxia.
Chongqing is China's largest city, population over 32 million. 🙂
