Agh the stories r100 times when the lights went out little porcelain peices wrapped in wire fuse box came with spare wire or we used chewing gum paper and aluminium rolls from mums kitchen - exhaust three little holes and a gasket shaped like a mouth the gearbox spigot bearing sound - 10a flywheel thick and heavy - sweet sound made for great memories- hit the starter with a shifter now - no break booster at all - lucky I’m alive - easy escape from the law - drop a gear disappear - from a police valiant . Your doing a great job

Both are as strong as an FD box and visually identical except the bell housing for the RX8 push style clutch. I got mine off yahoo auctions for $200. $700 odd landed and only had 60k on it. Feels brand new and much more enjoyable to drive than the 6 speed. Still just running the Renny while I build the motor and collect more parts for the REW swap.
Be interesting to know what the offer was that got turned down and was cut out. I can't imagine what it would cost, but man, these things are so bloody cool. RX8 info, Factory, the RX8 4port has the 5 speed manual gearbox 6port has the 6 speed manual gearbox 4port also has automatic transmission, basic model 6port also has the automatic transmission, better one with paddle shift etc RX8, 5 speed manual gearbox the bell housing unbolts (like FC Turbo gearbox) They say RX8, Series 1, 5 speed is stronger than Series 1, 6 speed RX8, Series 1 and Series 2, 6 speed manual gearbox are different, look different too, bell housing does not unbolt from the main section, it's a one piece etc Series 2 has a top plate on top of the gearbox mid section that unbolts Series 2, is stronger than Series 1 They should build minimum a carport down side of house, with a roller door on front Looks like it's wide enough to put cars there Be better security than the front lawn Also make small work area as say people be driving around looking for the house lol
